» KirkL - Modern day gun slingers
Gun slingers, that is what they are! Modern day gun slingers. Here is an interesting play going on now that I am watching just for grins.

Day traders decided to play on it, they went short this AM, ran out of shares to buy short then the squeeze started. It just reminds me of the OK Corral!
Guess wrong and you your fortune cookie might read.... this!

kirk, you and jay are always posting comments like your above referencing sellers and shorts and their volume moves. for the ignorant, can you reveal where you're getting these numbers? there is nothing in your link that shows whether the volume is buy, short or what-have-you. explanation, please.-- posted by matttheduck
» KirkL - Mr Duck
Mr DuckSome traders were saying they couldn't find any shares to borrow to short. Later on, someone posted Schwab had some to lend. I was speculating that there was a squeeze as there were no shares to borrow to short at the same time the price was rocketing up.
One clue a stock is in play.... Look for 10 to 100 times the normal volume. Nearly 20M today vs a typical volume of 0.3M is a good indicator.

They also mentioned it on CNBC... Many day traders just buy any stock mentioned on CNBC according to one of the recent articles Lita posted.
One trader said it was a good stock because it acutally had earnings! 8)
BTW, I was just asked if I could be part of a print article on people that quit or retire from their jobs to become day traders! I had to say I don't day trade and am not what they are looking for.

» KirkL - Gun slinger example
Gun slinger examplereminds me of a gambler doubling up their bet after losing....
I got one of their last available fills (at 35+) according to their Reps.
I used the borrowed shares to double up on my early morning fill at 25.
I'll be darn if I'll let the MM's buy back my early morning shares at 35 (with no margin I can wait to see what happens over the next few days).
Not a way for me to sleep at night, but I suppose some enjoy it!
