For me DigiChat works

GREAT using IE 5.0

TOO SLOW using Netscape 4.7
(slow on screen redraws - as in unusable for multitasking)

...It was happening to all of us...no matter what we were running. The chat room has a Bug that needs to be fixed or we should get a different chat room - it has to be more stable than that. Kash is aware of the problem, because it was happening when he was first setting up the room on Thurs. nite.....Jen

Hi all,

I am well aware of the bug that gets people booted from chat. I will be working with DigiChat support to fix it. although I don't have a solid ETA for the fix, I think it will be resolved early next week.

It is really nice to have someone like you helping us!

I think there are a few problems in the Java with the different browsers. Remember that MSFT "fixed" a few bugs that make their IE version non-standard. DigiChat might have designed their chat to run on IE with the "fixed" bugs so it could explain why Netscape Navigator 4.7 and 4.5 ran slowly for me.

I also had problems with the alladvantage.com "pays you to websurf" banner that was trashing my system until I loaded IE 5.0. I don't needed to have IE running, it just needed to be loaded on my system to set some switches or something like that.

Anyway, I had our new chat running on IE 5.0, had the allAdvantage.com banner running (so I got $0.50 an hour while chatting and surfing some other sites) and Netscape Navigator 4.7 running a different java chat as well as websurfing. I had zero problems with the display this way. My video refreshed quickly.

Oh yeah, I also had the Windows Media player going as I was listening to an investment radio show on my PC while in chat.

After I was booted out 15 times today I was a bit worn out.
The other thing --
When you reserve an ICON ID, then there are 3 other
people coming into the room with the same ICON --
it is getting a bit confusing.
When an ICON is selected, how is it possible for others to choose the same ICON?
Needs to be fixed.

I got dumped (twice) from the chat room,...and then managed to stay logged on for about 1/2 hour! I like the new software,... so long as I don't get dumped!

I was hoping to find a few investment type folks listening to BB on KGO's delay,... but, alas,... nobody was there. (I did meet a nice person from Missouri though,... not meaning to imply that most people from Missouri are jerks! This was just a nice person,... that's all! )

There are only about 25, or 30, icons that you can choose from. (In the "My Stuff" section of S101.) It'd be nice if there were a TON to choose from,... so that the chance of two people picking the same icon would be less!

I chose the "big nose" icon. :O)
