Just a few more thoughts on Digi-chat. I said above that the Digi-chat room was the same size and displayed the same amount of messages as Yahoo! Stock Chat. That is true - but there is a difference between Yahoo! Stock Chat and our Suite 101 chat. We all tend to stay in the same main chat room and have a group conversation, whereas in Yahoo! Stock Chat - even though there may be lots of chatters listed in the "who's here" box......most of the Yahoo! chatters are in little separate private message rooms and only a few folks are still chatting in the main room.For Suite 101 chat - we want to be able to carry on a Large Group conversation in the main room so IMHO we really do need to make the Digi-chat room screen larger somehow......Jen

Agree with you Jen. There are plenty of members who just enjoy lurking , and perhaps adding thoughts every once in a while. This is why I enjoy the main room. Plus, it adds to the community spirit, when you see 20 individuals listening to Brinker and " giving up their 2 cents".Everyone is always welcome ( " spammy " being the exception) to add to the discusion.I'm affraid the smaller , more intimate digi-room, will restrain some. Maybe in time, or with some " tweaking " it can become our mainstay.

Hi all,Just a few quick notes about what's happening with the new chat roll out.
I'm going to look at all the feedback sent to me by Thursday. If there are no critical problems, I will install the new chat on the live servers on Friday (Oct 1st).
Note that this will be a replacement of the old chat program.
Once we go live, I will continue to monitor the operations of the new chat environment and try to make the transition as smooth as possible.
We are still looking for contributing editors and managers who can contribute their time for chat monitor/master duties. application for chat duties is on http://206.186.163.171/functions.cfm
under editor's area.
also, I need topic editors to use the new chat scheduler from their topic page and give me some feedback on that.
that's about it for now. I'll be in touch.

Thanks Kash!Maybe people can put their complaints and suggestions (and even compliments) here for you?
We appreciate all your hard work to make our "friend Spammy" have to find a new form of entertainment. I've noticed "the other site" has a new chat also to deal with the problem.
Hopefully, the problem will vanish at both sites and we can get on with chatting about investing on our site!
To Lurkers, you don't have to register or join to use chat but you will be suspect as you get a "jester hat" as a "Visitor" we can easily identify potential trouble. Some of us will have the ability to just "click you outta there" and send you off to a party with Stuart if you start to spam our chat. The best part is, nobody can steal your identity and pretend to be me or another regular as passwords are required to log in.

I checked out our new chat room last night - Kash has enlarged the chat screen by taking out the banner on top. I finally figured out to re-set my monitor to 600x800 resolution so now can see 10 messages displayed at once on the chat screen. I think this new chat room is going to be great!<img src=" http://www.geocities.com/WallStreet/Dist..." width=160 height=100> Kash for All Your Hard Work!

I just checked out the new chat room and lo and behold I was able to get in. Did not do anything different than last week but had no problems logging on with IE.
