Its so much quicker and more intense and focused
and keeps one alert. May attact a lot of newbies
too.

Aol has a lot of chat topics and I just had a
long one in the Equestrain room with someone
who is a bug-boy (Jockey who still has weight off
allowances cause didnt win so many races)

It was good/intense/educational!

....Huh?? We've been asking you to come join us in chat for a long time and you always say that you aren't a chat room kinda guy. Our chat room is always open, but usually no one is there. So that is why we have scheduled chats so everyone can show up at the same time...it's kinda like throwing a party and letting everyone know when everyone else will show up. As the site grows we will add more scheduled chat times, and the chat room will probably be busy even when there is no scheduled chat.

Anyway Tony - Glad you decided you like chat....now come join us!....Jen

Folks - We have a few changes in Thurs. Nite Chat.

Coffee with Slick! has been a smashing success - we've always had a full room and a good time is had by all. But even our gracious host Slick, needs a break now and then. So Gene has offered to share the job of hosting Thurs nite chat. So sometimes on Thurs. nite we will have....

» Slick - Digi-Chat

Well, DNA, I was only in chat ( Thurs) for a short time, and my intial reactions are mixed. I have yet to get " comfortable " with all the new gadgets and options that are available. That being said, I think the new room is excellant ... for small to one-on-one chats. For large groups( weekend BB show and CWS), I prefer the old room . The screen is bigger, and I can easily review what has been typed , while I'm busy with some of my own " gems".

I'd be interested in others thoughts.

Steve - LOL! - It took me awhile to figure out how to get an icon also.

My first impression of the new chat room was that it was too small and not enough messages were displayed at one time. Compared with our regular chat room the digi-chat room is smaller. Then I went over to the Yahoo! Stock Chat room to compare:

The Yahoo! Stock Chat room is even smaller and about the same number of messages are displayed at one time as in Digi-chat. Both rooms have the ability to be scrolled up and down to pick up on missed messages. Our regular S101 chat room only allows limited scrolling up and down. It would be nice if some of the wasted space in digi-chat could be eliminated and the chat screen be made larger.

The icons at Digi-chat are kinda cute, but I prefer how icons and colored font are used over at Yahoo! stock chat. But that's just my preference.

The main thing is that digi-chat will make it easy for us to zap spammers. In Yahoo! stock chat it is easy to ignore and to yank spammers that are there for awhile, but they seem helpless in avoiding hit-and-run spammers. The hit-and-run spammer problem is getting so bad at Yahoo! stock chat that it is difficult to carry on a conversation in the main room. I hope the digi-chat room will be able to block hit-and-run spammers.

Well that's my two cents anyway. I'm glad we have Kash to set up our new chat room. I'll make sure he sees the messages we post on this thread about the digi-chat room......Jen
