Kash - here are my comments on the new chat room:

Biggest complaint today is about the addition of the blinking banner at the top of the page. It decreases the size of our chat screen and is distracting to chat. We are supposed to be a "bannerless community" - so why the blinking banner above the chat room? Some of our chatters left today because they did not like the banner.

Second complaint is about the "help" message that pops up regularly on the chat screen. It is also distracting and not useful. Better to have a stationary help button that anyone can click for help info.

Third complaint is that some are having problems logging into the chat room. I don't know why.

Now for the compliments - We seem to be getting used to the look and feel of the chat room. The icons seem to be popular, and the addition of new icons is appreciated. The new chat room is great, as long as the complaints above are addressed. Thanks Kash, for all your hard work in setting up the new chat room......Jen

I'm used to the complaints as I have battle hardened titanium skin. Still it pisses me off at times to hear the same darn old complaints all the time in chat where the people know darn well that there is nothing I can do about it but feel like sh*t. This is a reminder we have a complaint thread as well as this thread to voice your complaints.

Last weekend when I was windsurfing, our "friendly" crew of chatters gang attacked the chat monitor and she quit as a result of the comments made to her.

Maybe you are used to unloading on this old goat, but please remember that people here are putting their heart into the site for a whopping $15 a month and a few worthless (as of now) stock options. The easiest remedy to your complaints is for them to quit and look for another job that pays money to get abused.

Those still there unloaded pretty hard on me when I showed up near the end and I was in agreement and still felt heavy battle damage.

Here are some of the words I got from management.

These comments came after the chat monitor had already explained that she "would pass it on to the powers that be", and "well, I'll pass it along" As you can see it is not so much the words spoken more the lack of respect and common courtesy that was unacceptable. We all like to be treated like adults here, not slaves to any one group in Chat !! The duties of our Chat Monitors and Masters is to monitor the discussions for obscenity, harassment and illegal activity. Equally important though (especially while we are trying to grow!) is the monitors duties in welcoming first time visitors, new members and existing Suite members to our Chat rooms. For a new member or visitor to come into the chat foyer and see these kind of comments from other suite members makes no sense. Attacking our own people or anyone else for that matter wounds us both morally and financially. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

You all know who you are. Please try to respect the people that work here as well as those that use the site.

....I don't think that any of us in chat last weekend met to "attack" the chat monitor. But I do think that we misunderstood the function of the chat monitor. We all thought that we could register our complaints with the chat monitor and then she would relay them for us to "the powers that be". It would of been better for one of us to complain instead of all of us! Well now we know!

Sorry - TVBabe. We really didn't mean to be rude....Hope you will reconsider and give us a second chance....Jen
