In fact, I just purchased some at 36 1/2. Since you pointed it out, I will of course hold you personally responsible for any loss! (That's the order of the day, isn't it? Blame someone else!)I think it's worth a 2-3 point risk at these levels, and should be good for an 8-10 point "bounce"--hopefully. This is, of course, with "fun money". - Dan -- posted by DanG_6 » KirkL - Fair is Fair so I suppose i get half of all profits too! 8)Technicial extroidainaire RalphA was on the tube yesterday saying we are ALMOST down enough (5-10%) to be considered a correction and he likes buying stocks like these on big dips. If I were to play with Fire....I'd be buying semicap equipment stocks for they are better long term bets then Dell and are really getting hammered after some really good news. Sometimes the market just feels like hammering a correction for no good reason. I do like Dell better than AOL (valuation is key) so I'd buy them over AOL though AOL might have more upside if we recover. What does this mean?: Of course, there are some exceptions, including a few enterprise software names that are breaking out. And Hewlett-Packard busted out of an O'Neil cup-with-handle basing pattern nearly three weeks ago. Yet, for the most part, tech isn't "ready" just yet. Can some chartist give a URL and explain the pattern? -- posted by KirkL » DanG_6 - Only 1 of 4 major indices still bullish for intermediate term Of the 4 major indices (Dow, S&P, Nasdaq, and Nasdaq 100), only one, the Dow, remains bullish for the intermediate term in my judgement. For this reason, I think Bob Brinker's analysis makes a lot of sense (though I don't know how he comes to his conclusions). That is, that the Dow could very well make a new high before a severe correction (or--gulp--the beginning of a bear market), and that the weaker Nasdaq could POSSIBLY also make one. Usually the "big guns" (ie, Dow stocks) are the last to give up before a major change in trend, and I think this time will be true to form. Just an opinion, and I'd certainly welcome others.- Dan -- posted by DanG_6 » KirkL - Flight to quality. Dan, that would make sense in a "flight to quality" as money came out of the riskier and pricier NASDAQ and into the "better valued and still liquid" DOW or even the S&P500.Why do you only feel one is bullish? Fundamentals, feelings, TA or a combination possibly with a gypsy input?
