» honeyoneohone - Major Brinker Oops!!

.
Pen name, "force_majeure" reported this first, but I heard it too..and my jaw is still on the floor!!!!!!!!

"BOB UNPLUGGED AND MAD AS HELL!

A few technical problems with today's broadcast?

Anyone hear Bobby ranting at his studio people?

Uh Bob...the mike is OPEN!"

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Honey here: KGO went to black for at least a half minute, then came in with Brinker in his usual smarmy, velvety, radio voice.

Is that the way he talks to people he works with?

Yikes!! What a complete and utter aXXXhole!!!!!

I'd love, love, love to have a recording of that--anybody???

» honeyoneohone - Brinker Tells Caller He Lost Credibility

.
Pen name, "Stever.i.s" wrote this commentary about a caller during the first hour of Brinker's show today:

"Did you hear later in the show after a caller hosed down Bob about autoworkers retirement health care costs? Brinker seemed to be under the impression it was $65 a hour. Ridiculous. This guy really put Bob in his place and I do have to admit he did raise his voice. That was so Bob didn't shout him down like he usually does. That caller really hung in there toe to toe with Bob.

Later in the program Bob ridiculed the caller saying when you yell, scream, and rant you lose credibility. Wonder if the same goes for Bob and his ranting about the technical problems earlier in the very same broadcast? Oh I forgot Brinker and his minions see no hypocrisy in double standards for themselves."

Here is my (Honey) commentary:

IT's a good thing the auto-worker was determined to speak--Kudos to him!!!

Brinker tried his best to talk over and shout down the guy for the first few minutes he was on the air. When the guy started hitting home with his points, and Brinker couldn't talk over him enough to keep the points from being made, Brinker became SPEECHLESS.

Then AFTER THE GUY HUNG UP, Brinker, had the nerve to say the caller "raved and ranted." A bold-faced lie! He simply had to talk loud and fast to get his points across before brinker could cut him off.

KGO has the archive up now. It will be there for 24 hrs unless Brinker screams at them to delete it.

Here is the URL http://www.kgoam810.com/Article.asp?PT=A...
Get the 1PM show.
On the Windows Media file, it is 1:22 to 1:45

It starts out with "What nick name would you like? I can say "Meridith Oaks"....

Were they discussing planted calls or names to use on the internet??????

Save on Moneytalk on Demand Fees

BTW, I used Replay Radio today for the first time to make MP3 files on my PC of the show. I can listen on my PC or upload to iPods, etc. The software will automatically find stations that carry the top 50 radio shows (Moneytalk is now number 38) and record them for you automatically!!! Who knows? Maybe I'll start listening to Rush and post in that forum again! smile

For about the price of Moneytalk on Demand for a year, you can record the top 50 radio shows and thousands more if you wish... for personal use of course.

I wrote about it here

It's Like a TiVo™ for Internet Radio!!! I am able to listen to the guy chew out Bob for saying workers get $65 an hour and have a good chuckle.

I am not a Union man, but that caller was 100% correct. Bob seems to be bashing Bush and Bashing unions these days. A "loaded labor rate" that includes unfunded pension liabilities is lying about the "wages" a worker gets. It is as silly as including the cost of CEO stock options in a worker's salary. Bob should take a junior college course in business and another in economics because he seems to be making some silly mistakes as he gets older. How old is he anyway, 70?

Record Moneytalk on your PC and never miss a show again!

<img src=http://www.tqlkg.com/jm70jy1qwuFHNPNIGHFHGJMJLJI alt="Discover the Ultimate Streaming Music & Talk Radio Recorder" border="0">

Come to our Weekend Chat while Moneytalk is on the radio and get streaming links from regulars who are there. KGO 810 AM in SF streams Moneytalk live every Sunday now that it does not carry 49ers football, but CAL football on Saturdays sometimes preempts their Saturday show. In any event, a regular in chat should be able to give you a link to record.

Now remember, I like Bob...

but, I'd still like to see a transcript of the "conversation" Bob was having with the staff.

I think those kinds of "bloopers" are a riot. In this case, not exactly a blooper, but anyway....

Ahhh honey, I was just going to write you about that last night. I also heard him yelling at his staff. I would hate to work for that guy. Anyways I recorded the last few seconds of it.
If you and kirk would like it how would you like me to send it to you. Yes it is pretty funny to hear him like this.

Basically he told his staff that he wont start without his bumper music. LOL

All day I think he was having some technical problems.

Thank you, Pete, but we have a recording now and will soon be posting the link.

My biggest problem with the "real" Bob Brinker--which we all got a verbal glimpse of--is his utter arrogance and rudeness.

He showed this side of himself, repeatedly, when he posted "anonymously" as "donlane/mistertopes," but we've now been exposed to a taste of how he treats people who work for him. I sure wouldn't want to be one of them...

» honeyoneohone - Saturday Moneytalk Commentary by "basher52"

.
This is "basher52's" hilarious look at Brinker's radio program, October 22, 2005:

"Today's show marked a major mile stone or should I have said mill stone in Bob's illustrious career. It was the fifth anniversary of the beginning of the QQQ debacle. Of course nothing was said about this.

The show got off to a rough start with Bob ranting and raving at the broadcast engineer over some minor technical difficulties. It went something like this: "So what nick name would you like? I can just say Mr. Topes or I can just throw something in there if you like. I don't hear the music. I am not hearing the music. Get TOC I'll go off the clock. I am not going to take calls. Get TOC in there immediately. I will give you a count down three two one." This was then followed by several minutes of dead air time. I think I have seen better produced shows at the Kiwanis club.

When Bob came back on the air, He bashed the auto industry, their corporate executives and the UAW. Bob blamed management for agreeing to pay unreasonably high wages and benefits to UAW workers. He said the unions will have to give back much of what they have gained for the industry to survive.

The first caller was Jack from San Diego. Jack said the reduced wages offered by Delphi would reduce this country to a third world standard. Bob said he was making bazaar statements. He said no one in a third world country was making 20 to 25 dollars an hour it is more like 20 to 25 cents an hour. Jack told Bob he was totally out of touch.

Ray called in from KGO country to talk about the real estate boom. Bob rang the bell to tell all moneytalk listeners that the real estate bubble was over.

Gale called in from Hillsborough to talk about the airlines. Bob said the airline workers were over paid too. It is a lousy industry and the smart people have left to find better jobs.

ED was the next caller. He took exception to Bob's comments about the amount of money auto workers make. This led to one of the most heated exchanges in the history of moneytalk. Ed said that Bob was giving the auto workers a bad name and it wasn't right to do this on national radio. He said the 60 to 65 dollar an hour figure was a lie and Bob shouldn't be saying that over the air. He said he had to say it because it was not right. Bob said when people scream and yell and rant they lose credibility. Great point. Screaming, yelling and ranting was the way Bob started today's show when he chewed out the broadcast engineer.

Today's show was one of the most entertaining shows that Bob has ever done, He started screaming and yelling and several callers screamed and yelled at him. I guess you could say the whole show was a scream."

» honeyoneohone - Transcript of Brinker's Big Blunder :)

.
Tone of voice is like body language--it reveals a lot about the person.

Pen name, "stever.i.s" makes some comments and provides the exact transcript of the "blunder."

"That was funny as hell and I think you are probably right about the cause of the fiasco. Sure is fascinating to see how Bob responds to a little pressure. A real broadcasting pro we got with Brinker. NOT! You would think with all his years of experience he could cover a blunder better than that.

Here is how the Saturday show started.

Bob: So what nickname. What nickname would you like? Or I mean I can just say (it was at this point the music came up to a level it could be heard on air) Meredith Oaks or I can just, you know throw something in there if you want. I DON’T HEAR THE MUSIC! I’M NOT HEARING THE MUSIC!! GET TOC I”LL GO OFF THE CLOCK AND I’LL GIVE A COUNT DOWN. BUT I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE CALLS. GET TOC IN THERE IMMEDIATELY!!! The music continues as Bob said THREE TWO ONE. After about 30 seconds of dead air we get another 30 seconds of dead air before Bob started his monologue.
