Sy probably has the best explanation on MACD's i've ever read in any technical analysis book . and i have made lots of money by just being in the market the last couple of years by buying in october / november and getting out at market highs later . and right now normxxx and Sy ( ? ? ) are predicting a downturn in february / march and a flat market until this next fall . and as bob brinker says , " we'll all know in the fullness of time " . -- posted by allancoleman » oldtown4 - Re: Sy's advice In response to Sy's advice posted by cpa61:I know I will get blasted for the following comments from readers, but here is my advice about Sy. Stay away. I started following him right after Bobbiies buy signal several years ago. I did nothing but lose money. Lose. Lose. After finally learning from Hulbert that Sy had lost money over the last 10 years I bailed. He writes v interesting commentary, but he is a chartist and I learned charting is a failure. Do your due diligence before sending Sy your money. btw he sent me free access last year for three months as I recall, and he lost money. I decided that Brinker gave lousy trading advice and vowed never to follow such advice again. In passing I note the tone on this thread has become somewhat more civil. The more risk you take the more rewarding. I did remember that bob called us a leech during the q debacle for not subscribing to his marketimer. The leech refers to the ones that listens to his program every weekend. I can't figure that one. Show that is paid by advertiser and you get salary from it and yet you don't want anyone to listen. Just so it is crystal clear, I will tell all of you that after Bob's lecture and infomercial in Rochester, NY he took questions from the audience and then stayed to talk "one on one" with some of us about retirement. BOB told me very clearly that many many retirees used his newsletter as the basis for their retirement investing. Thus, when I subscribed and got the "invest immediately" bulletin, I naturally followed the advice I WAS PAYING FOR. Am I still pissed? YOU BETCHA. My problem with Bob ISN'T the fact that he made a poor recommendation, it is the fact that he left ALL OF US HANGING month after month after month as the QQQs dropped and dropped. He clearly never had an exit stategy and he obviously didn't care about all of his subscribers who followed him over the cliff. His biggest objective was to bury the call. I tried for months to get in touch with Bob for some explanation of what to do but his staff responded by CANCELING MY NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIPTION. This is how your wonderful Bob Brinker treats people!"Thanks Retired. Glad retirement is working out well in spite of the setback.
