» SteveT - Re: Downloading mp3s of the show

In response to Downloading mp3s of the show posted by pauldanielscott:

Paul, I didn’t catch that part of the program today but it is no big surprise when bob is way off base. He should stick to what he does best. Warn people away from shark attacks, promote dollar cost averaging, and asset allocation.

I find it nearly impossible to listen to an entire show these days. Old bob has a propensity to get in over his head when he pretends to know something about other topics. Back when I used to listen intently to his shows and write summaries here at 101 I noticed he would often contradict himself and take both sides of a position when the winds changed direction. The man has an enormous ego and he is virtually the only one that strokes it. Not so hard to do when one has the "bully pulpit" six hours a week. At times he can be rather entertaining. Reminds me of pro wrestling smile

Did anyone else have trouble getting into chat today? Just asking. New computer and wondering if it's me or the site.

As much as I dislike responding to my own freakin' posts....

How's come I get to the log-in board and it doesn't get past the "wait for (freakin') applet to load..."?

» BoltonCT - A surprise

One subscriber called and said he was taking a cash position awaiting the outcome with the DJI. Bob told him to await the newsletter he is sending out this Tuesday.

Could Bob be about to surprise us by becoming a bear again??

If so, then that is cause to worry because Bob is a perennial bull.

If so that is cause to worry because Bob is a perennial bull. I worry when he is bearish and I believe many people follow him.

agree with you bond4ever . plus there isn't a bulletin on bob's web site and bob was still looking for more earnings this year .

might be a sloppy summer , but , so far the correction is pretty small . i think bob would say , if this losses so far this year bothers you , then your risk tolerance probably doesn't belong in the stock market .

i won't get my newsletter until end of next week so can't help ya on the details .

» RSREXX1 - BRINKER UPDATE

Just read Brinker newsletter for May. He is the most bullish he's been since March 2003.. Outright buy under 1160 S&P. He is pleased that sentiment indicators are so bearish. He stated that the correction has progressed perfectly and economic growth, fed policy, inflation, etc. are all progressing as well as he could possibly hope. Bull market intact.Worst time to be a nervous nelly. S&P 1300 or higher, Good luck everybody

» BoltonCT - Thanks for the pollyanna pablum

I am now about 99% long in American stocks and this is a very tricky market to not be hedged. Bob Brinker has been bullish through a 5% to 10% loss his clientell has taken this year. All the same I'm in the mood for some polyanna pablum. If Bob thinks he will be up 5% to 10% this year that means the market will have to go up 13% to 18% from where it is today.

Even DOX is now down 8% now and that was rated #1 by the head of Vanguard just as I shorted it at its high. That incident almost caused me a coronary. It probably would have been down 20% if he had not recommended it.

Good luck to the bulls. Lets now have a bull run on Wall Street.

Thanks Kirk. You were exactly right. Java was the issue. I seem to recall my computer guru guy asking about Java when he was transferring stuff over from the old computer to the new one. I guess I must have said not to do Java. Forgot it was needed for chat.
