I understand. I thought I was missing something not being able to post charts while seeing you and a few others post them. -- posted by permabear » iamacamera - Re: Re: What Secular Bear Market? In response to Re: What Secular Bear Market? posted by Kirk:Q1: Has anyone read the latest Marketimer? Q2: Does it sound like Bob Brinker read my post "What Secular Bear Market? and is now "hedging" in his latest Marketimer? My question didn't get many replies so I'll ask it again now: Q3: "How many of Bob’s listeners did not return to fully invested in 2003 because they were not confident in his ability to call “counter trend rallies in secular bear markets?” 1 A pal read it to me. I don't care about Oct 2002 - My profits in this bull market alone are more than the average person accumulates in a life time. I'm not sure what your point is, except to prove B is exagerating yet again. BTW B is not predicting that the market will go all the way back to 800. He points out that previous bear markets have bottomed way before cyclical bulls have occurred. It seems they have ratcheted up making higher lows and highs until it finally passes the high of the previous secular bull. I probably haven't explained this very well - whatever. -- posted by iamacamera » dukeandduke - Re: Re: Bill Gross and Bartin Biggs In response to Re: Bill Gross and Bartin Biggs posted by hickfish:Wrong - they need to cut the welfare entitlements which account for 5/6ths of spending. FDR, LBJ and now Bush with the RX program have set up a bankrupt America. Health care needs to be rationed and saving needs to be rewarded, not punished. They have a few years to reverse this but I have no confidence in Congress or this or the next president from either party. -- posted by dukeandduke » Rob_Larsen - Bob Brinker, Jr. I was getting into the car yesterday when I heard Bob answering a question from a male caller. All I caught was the tail end so I'm not sure what the conversation was about, but it sounded like it could have been something interesting. The gentleman asked about Bob Brinker, Jr. knowing about the timing model and Bob answering something about him doing a newsletter. Thanks for filling me in on what that conversation was about.Rob -- posted by Rob_Larsen » David_Korn - Bob Brinker, Jr. and Bob Brinker's Timing Model (By David Korn) In response to Bob Brinker, Jr. posted by Rob_Larsen:I can help you out. This is an excerpt from my newsletter which will be published this weekend. This is only a brief excerpt that addresses your question about Bob's timing model. David Korn's Stock Market Commentary, Interpretation of Moneytalk (Bob Brinker Host), Financial Education, Helpful Links, Guest Editorials, and Special Alert E-Mail Service. Copyright David Korn, L.L.C. 2006 INHERITING BOB BRINKER'S LONG TERM STOCK MARKET TIMING MODEL Caller: This caller told Bob that he is going to depend on him and his stock market timing model for the next 20 years. The caller asked Bob whether his son, Bob Brinker Jr. had any insights into the inner workings of the long term stock market timing model? Bob said that Bob Jr. has his own newsletter that deals with fixed income. EC: Notice that Bob didn't really answer the question. As it turns out, I think I can offer a plausible response. Back in the day, I was in negotiations with Bob Brinker to post my "summaries" of his show exclusively on bobbrinker.com. (That was back when they had discussion boards which was pre-QQQQ days). Anyhow, I had many e-mail and telephone conversations with Bob Brinker Jr. at the time. He seemed to be a very nice fellow, and I recall that he told me that he often got asked that same question, but that he wasn't interested in following in the market timing footsteps of his father. In fact, Bob Jr. helped design bobbrinker.com and is a member of AdPad which is an information technology company that does web site development, custom software development, etc. EC#2: Now, here is where it gets a little interesting. Not too long ago, Bob Brinker Sr. announced the creation of the "Brinker Fixed Income Advisor" which lists its editors as Robert M. Brinker (that's Bob Jr.) and Lisa J. Brinker. However, Robert J. Brinker (that is market timer Bob Brinker Sr.) is listed as a "consultant to the Brinker Fixed Income Advisor." Obviously, Bob Sr. lends his name and credibility, not to mention his advice, to his son's efforts in publishing the newsletter. The newsletter, as the name implies, focuses only on fixed income, so it is not competing with Bob Sr.'s stock market timing newsletter. You can learn more about the newsletter here: [Link deleted by Kirk with David's permission... As Bobby Jr said... he wants to be a success on his own... so he can do his own newsletter advertising. Links to his site will be allowed as soon as he puts links to my newsletter on his web site.] EC#3: I was really hoping that Bob would have said that apart from him, the person who best knows the inner workings of the long term stock market timing model is a guy in New Orleans named - David Korn, editor http://www.BeginInvesting.com

Seems pretty boring, but I guess that's what fixed income is all about. Twenty years ago Bob used to talk about his Bob Jr. getting his advanced degree in software engineering/computers and was advising others to do the same. I guess that Jr. is following in his dads footsteps. It will be interesting to see if he takes over the reins of the Market Timer, which by the way I am not a subscriber after getting burned in the QQQ without any guidance. I will be writing that loss off for years to come LOL. Life is short and I have no stress so I take it all in stride. Thanks, Rob In response to Bob Brinker, Jr. and Bob Brinker's Timing Model (By David Korn) posted by David_Korn: -- posted by Rob_Larsen » hickfish - Re: Re: Re: Bill Gross and Bartin Biggs In response to Re: Re: Bill Gross and Bartin Biggs posted by dukeandduke:Mortimer, if I may. I can't argue with anything you said. Supply side economics do work and work well for the people. Actually it is quite easy, but high spending will always counter its benefits. You might have misconstrued the first paragraph of my post. It was actually a copy and paste from another's post. It looked like part of my text but was actually the basis for my reply, which is the same as yours. -- posted by hickfish » pete2214 - Re: Re: Bob Brinker and Suite101 In response to Re: Bob Brinker and Suite101 posted by allancoleman:
Well I started the superbowl party early when I posted that. Forgot to put an emoticon. Anyways to answer your question he hasn't spoken to me before or during the party but I heard him yelling at allan. Greenspan that is. cheers -- posted by pete2214 » dukeandduke - Re: Re: Bill Gross and Bartin Biggs - Planted Callers In response to Re: Bill Gross and Bartin Biggs - Planted Callers posted by Kirk:Right or wrong, everyone alive has opinions on politics but lets keep this forum to talking about Brinker's ideas on how to make and keep our money. The only reasons I brought it up are: 1. Bob mentioned it. & 2. Taxes cost me and every other listener far more than any QQQ call. Bob's politics turn off more and more listeners the rare times he is on these days. -- posted by dukeandduke » pete2214 - Re: Re: Re: Bill Gross and Bartin Biggs - Planted Callers In response to Re: Re: Bill Gross and Bartin Biggs - Planted Callers posted by dukeandduke:Politics, current events and sports.
