He met my grandmother and brought her back to meet his parents in Ellijay, Georgia, the town mentioned by Zell Miller. I visited there for the first time two years ago. It is beautiful country. And the Chatahoochee River, immortalized in a poem by Sidney Lanier, runs through all of that part of Georgia. I was sorry to see some of the commentators says that, with Zell Miller, we heard the KKK speak again. This was a man who, as governor, sought to remove the Confederate symbol from the state flag.
