» Kirk - Scam or Legit? "Creating Wealth with Real Estate"
.I decided to investigate and see if we can post the results of what we find as a group here to warn others should this just be another scam or marketing ploy.
Anyone that bought Real Estate in the past 20 years has probably made a fortune if they are not idiots. The market has been wonderful so no special skills were needed except the ability to get a down payment and make the regular payments. With many new loan product out there, a down payment was not needed.
As we could be in a real estate bubble or just close to a new high that won't go much higher (I'm not predicting this... just saying it is possible) you might see those with much real estate finding new ways to convince novices to give top dollar for what they purchased.
I can tell you right off the bat that if Robert Allen is still in the market to buy real estate that the LAST THING he wants to do is create more buyers to compete with him and drive up prices. but.... if he holds a large amount of real estate, he might want to sell it to you. Or, he might just be using the great bull market in real estate as a way to get suckers to pay him to tell how he made money in real estate that has been as easy as falling off a turnip truck.
so... I start out right away admitting I am a skeptic. Others are invited to prove me wrong, but I think this is a scam... probably to get you to pay for expensive classes as the main objective. Has anyone gone to one of Allen's workshops? I open up the paper this morning and he has a full page ad saying that he needs to make 1000 new millionaires and that he's having free workshops here next week (Phx, AZ). It's all, of course, real estate investing related. Is this B.S.? Or is this guy legit?

I went to one of these workshops. He has a lot of good ideas, but wanted to charge 3,000 for the program. For a newbie, I just wasn't ready to pay that. My advice is to go to the workshop--great motivation, and information, but then go home and purchase a cheaper program for less to start. There are a lot of workshops for much less.

If you go to his work shop ,leave your cash ,credit cards and check book at home ,they give a great presentation and many buy at the spur of the momment or the frenzy of what others are doing .

I just read "One Minute Millionaire" by Robert Allen and Mark Hanson. it was alot of new age type stuff and some of the typical motivational stuff. towards the end, Mark refers to how Robert took basic real estate principles that were as "old as the hills" and repackaged them with the "sexy" title "Nothing down".
I couldn't believe some of the stuff the seemed to be admitting to, and advocating. Rick

.Before you go to a seminar, I'd first read a few of his books to see what you are getting yourself into. Remember, the seminars are designed to get you to part with $3,000 for information that can often be found in books. Reading a book or two would be a good insurance policy to pay to see if you even want to risk attending a seminar that asks you to part with $3,000.
