Hi Becky,
Great article and very encouraging. I'm a sahm who homeschools my 11 year old son. Since taking him out of school, my decisions have been based on this very principle, including taking him out of school. Thanks and welcome.

Hi Heather, thanks for reading and taking the time to postsmile I'm homeschooling my kids too, now 7, 6, and 4 and still try to let my insight as their mother take precedence over any advice, method, or curriculum when it comes to helping them learn.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words, Annie.smile Notice the article disappeared--I accidentally published it before I meant to and you got a sneak peak.smile It's supposed to be published in Mothering magazine or on their website within the next 4 months, then I'll be able to re-publish it here later. Thanks for dropping in! I'll get another article up for this month soon.

» Peggy_Kord - Special Mom!

What a special mom you are!
Communication and play are the early keys to education. So many children don't know how to play! We, as parents, tell our children to "go out and play", but we have never taught them HOW!
Your special one on one time with your children is so beneficial to them!
I applaud you as an educator and most importantly as a mom!
Peggy
