» Ravenlea - Welcome

Hi!

What a fun topic. Nothing like a good hero fighting the forces of evil to make the world seem a little brighter. I've always loved Indiana Jones. (Doesn't hurt that Harrison Ford is handsome and has a lot of charisma.)

I don't know why I'm mentioning this but I wonder if you have ever listened to the interviews which Bill Moyers did with Joseph Campbell on the subject of Mythology. They are quite wonderful. Indiana Jones is really a modern mythological figure of sorts.

Anyway, I am relatively new to Suite101.com and am enjoying the experience very much. Hope you have as good an experience as I'm having.

Yours in dragon slaying,

Hi Ravenlea.

I haven't heard the Bill Moyers interview. It sounds interesting though. George Lucas certainly enjoys mythology. It's evident in the Star Wars movies and Willow as well. He's basically created modern myths for us using the techniques of classic mythology. Welcome to Suite101 by the way. I'm new as well. Well with my own topic anyway.

The Power of Myth was actually a series of interviews with Joseph Campbell that were done for Public Television about 10 years (maybe longer) ago. Campbell was just a wonderful, magical soul and the interviews are fascinating and entertaining and brilliant and....

Looking forward to your next installment,
