» Deanna Couras Goodson - My "Hyper"-thyroid friend

My best friend's husband has hyperthyroidism. I was amazed to learn that his struggles, although seemingly polar opposite to mine, could be similar in some respects.

He gets really tired and has certain sensitivities when he's on a hyper episode just like I do when I am on a hypo one.

He may need to have his thyroid removed and will then become HYPOTHYROID and placed on synthetic medications like I am.

I was wondering if anyone became hypothyroid because of a thyroid removal and if there is any advice I can give him or resources I can steer him toward.

Hi Deanna, You'll find a wealth of information in Elaine Moore's Graves Disease Topic relating to both sides of this disease. I'm sure she would be able to help you and your husband.

Regards,
Tamara
