Ah, well it's important to know who is using hypnosis to aid in God's work and who is not then? smile Hypnosis is a very scary thing to those who haven't experienced it. I know I was a little nervous about the whole thing, even when I went to take my courses!

Then I learned that hypnosis can't be done against someone's will. Of course there are things like suggestion that we experience with commercials on tv, but I couldn't make someone change religions or believe something against their own personal ethics and values.

Pagan - I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what it entails as well smile There's a lot more to it than one sees on the surface. But if you take only the things that are of value to you as an individual, like what herbal teas to use for certain illnesses and things like that, you don't change your spiritual values any, except for maybe having more appreciation for the gifts God gave us to heal with and a thankfulness to him for providing the herbs.

Running on someone else's script - good way of saying that! We all do it from time to time from early childhood though. It's nice once we develop our own scripts!

Oh, and Associate Editor is an editor who writes a topic to promote their SuiteU course. The editor doesn't have minimum article requirements (like you don't have to write an article every month), can use as many guest articles as they like, and can even republish articles with permission from the author. The sites in this COI are all SuiteU related sites, and it'll be a great place for course students to follow up on their studies!

I've put in an application for a topic relating to my Crystal Crafting course, too, and might create a Hub (where all my healing topics connect - Holistic Alternatives, Reiki, Hypnosis, Crystal Healing, and maybe even Wise Woman Chronicles) But I think I'll have to write courses for each topic in order to connect them here? Looking into that one LOL

Love & Hugs,
Dar

I'll bring that up on The Course Authors Boards for Art and Crafters!

In response to message posted by brisbaneartist:

Oh absolutely! Go right ahead smile This area should be able to bring Suite101 and SuiteU together and encourage a lot of the Course Instructors to become editors here at Suite. I think it's a fabulous idea! And the great thing is, the Associate editors can adopt existing Suite101 topics that relate to their course. There just weren't any adoptable topics that related to my particular courses, so I created my own. This is a wonderful team effort, don't you think?

» Jo Murphy - Specific?

In response to message posted by DarleneCheek:

Darlene is there a specific link that tells us all about that system.
By that I mean do we use the same form and just say that we want to be associate?
Or is there a link to where they made the announcement?
I know you know why I am behind the times and so I won't explain,

I know there was a letter sent out that is now an article in the editor's area, but it didn't explain things very well. Maureen told me everything about how it works, and she is the one to contact about joining SuiteU's COI. Just tell her that you want to be an associate editor and what topic. At least she's the one who's been helping me, so I think she's the right person LOL I'm sure her email address is on the COI welcome page.

» Rosee - Price

Just went in to see about your course Dar and noticed that the cost is a bit more than the other ones I've taken. Did Suite put the price up or is it because we can get a certificate at the end?? Of course with me being a Canadian it will cost a bit more..but I will be in there for sure. smile Hugs, M smile

In response to message posted by Rosee:

They have raised the price a bit in the last couple of months. Also, my course is very intensive. We've discovered that there's no way to truly finish in the 3-week time frame, so I think that's why I'm on the high end of the scale? My crystal crafting course, however, is on sale! smile

On the certificate for the hypnosis course, that doesn't make you a certified hypnotherapist, because I don't think SuiteU is accredited. But it is a certificate of completion. Folks who need continuing education certificates to be a part of an organization like the International Association of Counselor's and Therapists, can probably use the certificate to show that they've completed 15 hours of continuing education, and things like that.

I hate that it ends up costing more for folks in Canada! Doesn't seem fair that y'all have to pay more for books and things like thatsad

Thanks for the clarification Dar! Hey if we keep shortening your name we will just be calling you Dr....LOL! Now maybe I will check out that Crystal course...love anything on sale you know! I have to dig out my Visa card..I hid it over Xmas so I wouldn't use it and end up with bills. Actually our dollar went up a bit yesterday I think...highest its been in a long time. smile Hugs, M smile

All my guy buddies around here just call me D - they ain't about to go to all the trouble to say Dar and surely not Darlene LOL Some day though, I'll have that Dr. in front of my name. I hope to go to Naturopathic school, but it isn't time yet smile

Hiding your Visa at Christmas - now that's smart! We aren't even brave enough to do the credit card thing yet LOL

The crystal crafting course is cool... it has a lot of stuff you know, but it puts it in order in the way you'll use it so that it will stick in your mind better. It doesn't have tests or anything either, like the hypnosis course smile AND, you will learn how to macrame and wire-wrap crystals.

How's that for a shameless plug? hahaha

Love & Hugs,
Dar
