» biogardener - Not just the unknown

For the first time in my life, I have been suffering from panic attacks since last year. I had been led to believe that panic attacks are based on unfounded fears and I am happy to read that you do not seem to agree with that theory either.

My panic attacks are based on actual danger to my life which had existed for some time, except that previously I had not been aware of it. The danger still exists, but the panic attacks have grown less frequent, because I have done something about them. I am unable to correct the situation, but I have informed as many people as I could to make them aware of the situation. Now, if anything happens to me, the guilty people will be arrested.

This is the second time that my life has been threatened, and the first time, I could not even get the police to listen to the recorded telephone message. They told me that they could do nothing about the situation until the person had actually carried out his threats.

This experience has taught me the following:

  • It would be stupid to pretend that the danger does not exist.
  • It is dangerous to keep threatening information to yourself.
  • It is important to inform the authorities of threats and danger to have it on record. You have to keep at it until someone will listen to you.
  • The more people know of your situation, the better.
  • I let the people who are threatening me know that their intentions are known to the authorities and to my friends. That is a great deterrent for them to know that they will be arrested if harm comes to me.
  • As far as I can see, the threats to my life have either been diverted or are on hold at because of what I have done.

The main thing for me was to do something rather than just wallow in self-pity.
