» Brian_Hughes - Hi Oisin You shouldn't have too much trouble finding another hosting service and there's plenty of free ones around. This list of Dee's should give you some idea. http://www.freewarehome.com/services/hom... I've heard good reports of Dreamwater and another that comes to mind is HyperMart http://www.hypermart.net/index.gsp Neither are as bad as Geocities for ads and you should find that you can transfer your domain name. Hope this helps. -- posted by Brian_Hughes » biogardener - I agree with Brian I agree with Brian. There are so many free services that it is not necessary to pay for them. It is easy enough to move your site. Anyone who wants to maintain a similar site will not want to take over yours but will want to develop one with a different personal perspective. I maintain webpages on 8 or 9 different webhosts. All of them have advantages and disadvantages, and by using all of them, I get the best service. I then tie all the pages together on my index page using the same background and color scheme for them all. Unless you look at the URLs you would not even know that the pages are on different webhosts.I did not give up my GeoCities pages because I love their file uploading and storage function. Fortune City is great in that area also, although I don't like some of their other functions. So try out different webhosts to see which one has the functions which you consider the most important and then move your site there. In the meantime you will have fun experimenting. -- posted by biogardener
