Thanks for the tips. I will be sure to pass them on to Doctor Mom. She needs all the help she can get -- but don't most wives and mothers have similar needs?

Yes Hank, to certain extent all wives and mothers have similar needs, but (surprise, surprise) most husbands and dads have those same needs.

» biogardener - Deodorant & Food Poisoning

I have an old roll-on bottle with a huge roll-on ball which is removable. The brand of deodorant was called Tickle. I have been refilling that container with vinegar and used it as my only deodorant for over 30 years. It does not work as an antiperspirant, of course, but that is good. Perspiration is one way the body expells poisons, and I wouldn't want to inhibit that. Any deodorant or antiperspirant which contains any form of aluminum is very dangerous and a cause of breast cancer.

Now to food poisoning. It can be prevented easily. You need to sip a glass of water with a half teaspoon of raw apple cider vinegar in it with a meal. The enzymes in the apple cider vinegar digest the harmful bacteria like salmonella. Many animals have those enzymes in their stomachs naturally and do not get sick even when they eat rotten meat. We can get the same benefit by sipping this drink. I have even prevented food poisoning after I knew I had eaten something bad and taken a quick sip of raw apple cider vinegar.

Forty years ago, in a Vancouver nursing home, the turkey at a Christmas dinner was bad and every resident got sick except the two people who always sipped their cider vinegar water with a meal. That convinced me, and I have not had food poisoning since.

Hi Peggy,
I would be lost without vinegar and baking soda! These are great ideas. I never thought to try white vinegar as an underarm deoderant, but I am going to try it now. Also, the idea for repelling mosquitoes by drinking the apple
cider vinegar mixed with water is new to me. Again, I am going to try that. Thank you!

Good idea as long as it doesn't cut into the time we can watch baseball and football, On the other hand, sports do tend to create trauma.
