My New Horse

Ok. I have a new horse and colt. The Horse is a 6 year old mare who is only green broke. The colt is only 3 months old and will be four months old July 16.You can put a saddle on the mare and you can sit on her but she bucks if you try to rein her. The man who had her didn't ever mess with her so I don't know. I want to make a barrel racing horse of the colt. She is a mixed horse. This is just a junk horse. I still think she is worth something. I have a little bit of experience in barrel racing, but not that much. My questions are:1. Is the colt and mare worth my time?
2. How do I train them right?(keep in mind this is my first time) I would really appreciate any advice and tips I can get. Thank you, Chelsea Daniels
