- Kids and Horses
I grew up around all kinds of animals, including horses, and was never intimidated by the largest of them but I can see where kids who are not used to big animals might be frightened of horses. I would think that kids who read books about horses might lose some of their fear as interest and respect would replace it. Thanks for your interesting articles each month.

In response to Kids and Horses posted by JButler: I grew up on the farm and was used to being around horses, as well as other animals. None of them ever frightened me. I was the only one that old Oscar the bull would let into his stall without raising a fuss. He'd just look at me and stand quietly.
My grandsons are city dwellers, yet when the older one went to horse camp, he loved it. He rode a horse while there and learned parts of the horse and many other facts. He didn't seem to be intimidated by them. However, I can see why some children would be.
