» ktepi - Which games would you like to see covered?

I have definite ideas about which are the best or most appealling horror games, and which non-horror games are most suited to horror adventures, but what do you think? Are there Deadlands fans out there? (If not, I'll convert you). All Flesh Must Be Eaten? Vampire? Call of Cthulhu?

What do you play?

Anyone dying for a horror adventure for Star Wars?

Cthulhu definitely has some gems! I've enjoyed watching Vampire: The Masquerade (the pen & paper).

Back when I lived in Burlington, VT the highschool kids had a *huge* (think, hundreds of people at a time) weekly game loosely based on AD&D Vampire campaigns. Basically they'd just get together and pretend to be vampires whilst roleplaying and someone or another would control plot. I never got into it as it seemed to border a bit on the immature side (owing to their ages) but I commend them for their exploration of fantasy & creativity!

Horror adventure for Star Wars...interesting concept. I know when the original movie first came out I was about 3 or 4, and parts of it scared the living daylights out of me--not that it was a particularly scary movie, but to a 3 year old...

Put me down as a Deadlands/Werewolf fan. Played it a lot when I was back in the UK.

I now live in South Africa and it is much harder to find horror rpg'ers. This is a country with an "Occult Related Crime Unit" in the Police Service and role-play is given as "one of the main indicators" of Satanism by the Snr. Supt.

Deadlands is definitely on deck smile I'm waiting to get my hands on the supplements which deal with New Orleans (my neck of the woods) to see about converting my old Werewolf: the Wild West campaign.

The regular Werewolf game is one I have an ambivalent relationship with -- but I have some ideas for articles about it, and I do like the Revised Edition quite a bit.

And amen to Call of Cthulhu smile

» Geredan - Deadlands and Werewolf

For those diehard Deadlands fan, like myself, there is a small packet for rules to crossover Werewolf: The Wild West straight into your horrorfest Deadlands games! I heavily suggest anyone taking a peek at it.

Also, I think you can tap almost any game for the horror element. But, so far you've only fantasy creatures. You do not have to have monsters and myths to fuel your characters imaginations and storylines. There are enough atrocities in the world to fuel any number of stories

And what about the futuristic worlds? In Cyberpunk, you have the flesh of the dead being grafted or vatted for cybernetic implants. Think Soleyent Green, except instead of culling the herd for food, you're hunting down the character's love one for body parts.

Comment from Brandy:

I am an AD&D Ravenloft fan when it comes to horror game settings. I really love horror. I am interested in trying some of the other horror based games but that money thing keeps me from splurging on that.
