I started home schooling my 2nd and 4th grade daughters in August. We have enjoyed this book. It is easy to read and understand. Along with the textbook, I ordered the teachers guide and student pages. The teachers guide walks the parent through each chapter. It includes review questions, games, additional reading suggestions, and project ideas. The student pages include coloring sheets, puzzles, review questions, and map work. An example of the first lesson follows: First, read chapter 1 from the text. Second, ask questions from the teacher's guide. Third, complete map work on student page 5 & 6. Fourth, make a craft, activity or art project suggested in the teachers guide. The only negative aspect of this curriculum is it does not teach history from a religious standpoint. For example, the SOTW teaches about nomads but never mentions Adam and Eve.
