» MBW - Homemade baby food courtesy of Martha Stewart Living

I found the article in Martha Stewart Living to provide some helpful guidelines, but I was also mystified by a few things (such as not peeling apples). The author should have stated what types of foods were appropriate to which age groups. For example, I won't give my daughter (she's almost 5 months old) carrots until she's older. The author might have considered including a warning that certain foods can cause digestive problems (bananas can constipate babies, something I never knew until I fed my daughter bananas). Ironically, the article stresses the importance of buying organic produce when preparing baby food, while another article in the same issue provides a recipe for birthday cake for a 1-year-old that's loaded with sugar. This article can be consulted as a resource, along with other sources. I don't feel it's the definitive source on making baby food.
