» mjb0325 - Re: Ferals in need in Connecticut I found 26 feral and stray cats and kittens as I waited for my car to cool from over heating. Through the snow flakes I noticed kittens and cats in the back of the one of the New London Connecticut mall parking lot.A horrifying sight in the bitter cold, they where scavenging for food, but no more. I feed them daily and I am arranging their rescue (TNR). I am disabled by a rare form of arthritis and have limited resources to pull from. I am getting over whelmed by the cost of food alone. I am looking for ways or charities that will help me continue to feed the cats that must be kept in my managed colony. I am targeting the area businesses/restaurants for donations to defray the costs and to get the word out for me. I plan on fund raising to defray the cost of their vet. care and maintenance of the ones to scared by neglected and abuse to be socialized and adopted, so I will manage their colony indefinitely. But I am only one person with a big goal and it will cost money. I will need resources for this, food, money, traps etc. But in the 3 weeks since I found them I have rescued 3 kittens, they are being socialized by an area group and will be adopted. I have a volunteer to help me trap, a donation of 4 spay and neuters and 3 bags of food donated. Their rescue is underway.... I can't and won't stop now...But I am in need of donations, cat food, veterinary services, cash , cat items, website built, fundraisers, volunteers, traps, large shed, cat shelter( have diagram), sponsors for cats in rescue, farms and businesses for the not so tame cats, permanent homes, foster homes and a safe place to move them, etc. I need info. on where and how to get this project moving on..This rescue will be solely supported by donations. Donations can be sent or call for pickup and drop off locations. Not for profit project...
