» Renie_Burghardt - Honey is Better!

Hi Sherrie, you make some excellent points in this article. My daughter was recently looking to adopt a puppy, and almost didn't because of the attitude of the people at the shelter. But in the end, she decided to take the pup, and of course, the family loves him. But, as you say, the experience left a "bad taste" in her mouth. Thank you for another excellent, helpful article, on behalf of homeless pets! Take care. Renie

I'm glad your daughter took the puppy, but others may be so put off that they can't look past the shelter's attitude. Unfortunately, it's the animals who will suffer in the end.

» Joy Butler - Gimme honey!

Honey works better in all walks of life but animal rescue is so emotionally charged that sometimes we forget. I've even seen volunteers get discouraged because they felt their work was not given enough recognition. But it's important to stay focused on the real goal, and that is of helping the animals. Great article, as always.

It's also easy to get discouraged when everyone tells you what important, wonderful work you're doing, and then no one offers to help. You just have to keep going, though. Thanks for stopping by, Joy.
