» Joy Butler - The Link

What common sense already knew, research has now proven. The link is so obvious, and I can't understand why so many people are still blind to it. Another well-presented article as usual, Sherrie. You're doing a great job here on Suite101.

Hi Sherrie, thank you for another excellent article. The poem is chilling, as is the rest of the information in the article. Yes, the link has been obvious for quite some time, and I look forward to next month's article on what is being done about it. I think Margaret Mead's quote says it all!

I'm thankful for your articles, Sherri. It enlightens people to the plight of these unfortunate animals. Thank you.

Happy New Year, Sherri!

The link has always been obvious to me, maybe because I was brought up to see it. My mother always said, "Anyone who would abuse and animal would abuse a child or an old person." All children need to be taught that, so they will grow up with that understanding.

I'm listening to an audio book now that takes place in the 15th century. The savage cruelty toward people is mirrored in their treatment of animals. We've come a long way since then, but we have so much further to go.

I am in agreement with the theory that abusing animals is just a very short step away from inflicting the same on the human species. I would always be very suspicious of a child who liked to hurt animals. Very thought provoking article, thanks.

The good news is that both the medical and law enforcement communities are beginning to recognize the connection between animal cruelty and violence against humans. That's the first step toward solving the problem. Thanks for stopping by, Lynda.
