» Jojo - Eileens Obsolete Tool Wall

Now obviously, you don't seem to have a problem with dusting. I have all kinds of stuff all over the house and you have just given me more firepower. Thanks for justifying what I call "My Eyecandy".

At our house we collect boardgames. The boards themselves go up on the walls, secured by velcro strips for easy removal when game time approaches. I mainly stick to boardgames with attractive boards, so that I can put them up without too much backwards gentrification happening.

I must say I was fascinated by the picture you included with this weeks article. I noticed it took a long time to load and assumed it was larger than it appears on your page there, so I fished around and opened it up in it's own window, and presto-chango take a Look at ALL That stuff!

You should start your own strange tool identification quiz Eileen. Half the things on that wall are so unique and probably completely obsolete in a modern domestic setting to say the least. Neat-O!

» Margot - Thanks Jojo

Thanks for the quick big pic.

I absolutly love your board game wall idea. I really like hanging things that people might not expect to see on the walls.

I also lke your "Name that tool" idea. I think we'll try it.

» Barbara Bell - Wow

Eileen, everything on that wall lives in my kitchen drawers, except the uppermost right object that has a black handle...I know the others, Jojo if you need help with ID's.

As an antique dealer, you can imagine the collections I have. Trivets, tiles, plates, and paintings cover my walls, and every shelf (and there are lots of those) is covered with pottery, china, glass, silver, and little boxes. Tables have books, clocks, small framed prints, boxes, interesting ashtrays, silent butlers, vases of silk flowers.

I collect anything from Paris: old etchings, framed postcards, enameled house numbers, anything with a French connection. I have a collection of miniature Parisian buildings (like Dept. 56 village) that can be rearranged to create any street scene I can imagine.

Because I've run out of display space I set up more shelves in the basement for the leftovers, and in the attic are all my own watercolors and drawings that just don't have a place anywhere else!

Somebody come help me dust!

» Margot - Dust

Barbara, I have enough dusting to do with all of my collections. BTW The item with the black handle is a pot handle. You knew what it was and didn't know it.
