» Varmint - The Manchurian Candidate In the review I found here, the author says:"During the Korean War, a group of soldiers (including Sinatra)led by Lawrence Harvey as the general have been mysteriously captured by a bunch of renegade Koreans." Lawrence Harvey plays Raymond Shaw, who is a sergeant, not a general. Sinatra plays Ben Marco, who is a captain in the war, the leader of the squad, and a major during the unwinding of the story in New York City some years after the Korean War is over. The squad is not captured by a "bunch of renegade Koreans". They are captured by a team of Red Chinese commandos sent on a mission specifically to grab Raymond Shaw and his fellow soldiers. Since grabbing Shaw and using Pavlovian techniques to turn him into a killer is the point of the story, I thought it is worth clarifying these small mistakes in explication. This is a terrific movie with a great performance from Janet Leigh and Sinatra proves what a great actor he was. -- posted by Varmint
