» zsasz - the most poignant scene in the movie is when...... George is finally getting ready to leave when Uncle Billy comes out and says that the Board of Directors will vote with Potter if George doesn't stay on a director. That scene that focuses on a closeup of Stewart is in my opinion the best I've ever seen him do. Without a word he conveys the sense of helplessness that is his life. Its at this point that he realizes that this is the road his life is going to go down and there is nothing he can do about it. Its one of the saddest, most honest moments in the history of film simply because almost everyone has had one of those moments in their life; when you realize you won't be a major league baseball player or ballerina or worldwide explorer, and you just have to accept the hand that you've been dealt.-- posted by zsasz
