» mastiffs2005 - ROFL

So, Cheryl... you have MY willpower LOL... Yes, I have lots of advice on losing weight the healthy way without even trying... Would you like to try hypnosis? I can teach you how to do it if you'd like. I've been meaning to get those scripts on here for everyone any way *smile* Just let me know, and I'll get them typed in, or I can send you a tape if you'd like.

As for that chocolate and rice krispy treats - whenever the thought of something sweet crosses your mind, I want you to immediately think of something that you DON'T like. Everytime you "think" you want something sweet, just imagine that you just took a big bite of something that tastes bad. That'll knock that right out for ya *grin*

I'll look up some aromatherapy and herbs for you and post it in the morning. There are a few scents out there that will help you not feel hungry, but as for ease, hypnosis is definitely the best.

Have a great night,
Darlene

» CarolWallace - I'm watching this space, too!

Only sweets are NOT my downfall. If I buy a carton of ice cream or a box of cookies it's because I had a slight craving - I eat one and then it's my husband's. (Lucky guy can eat the whole rest of the package and not gain an ounce - and for my one bite I probably gained two!) My problem is starchy, salty stuff like chips.

» mastiffs2005 - Weight Loss Tips:

Okay... this is a compilation of everything I can find across all the different natural methods *smile*

***

If your body goes through a complete detoxification, it will begin to lose weight naturally, without any effort at all. Adding fiber to your diet will help this process - whole grain breads, cereals, nuts, vegetables... and a good daily multivitamin will help this process, too, along with drinking lots of water.

Drink one glass of grapefruit juice every morning. Not only is this an excellent diuretic, but it also suppresses the appetite and helps break down fats.

Increase your consumption of foods that are bitter, pungent, astringent, and hot (peppers are an excellent example of all these qualities)... these things will help our body eliminate waste more efficiently. Cut down on foods that are salty, sweet or sour (these things will be covered in the hypnosis script I'm typing up).

Bladderwrack (kelp) increases metabolism. Nettle tea (found in a healthfood store) right before your meals is a good diuretic and metabolism boost.

Bee pollen also stimulates the metabolish and helps curb the appetite - 1 teaspoon daily.

Brewer's yeast will reduce cravings.

Chromium supplements helps balance your blood sugar levels and also balances the appetite.

Phenylalanine (an amino acid) encourages weight loss. (Don't take this if you are on antidepressants or blood pressure medicine because this is also an antidepressant... and it helps with pain in the muscles and joints).

I'm still typing the hypnosis script, but I'll post the url here as soon as I'm done. Hope this helps, and I'll keep researching my books.

Have a great day,
Darlene

» mastiffs2005 - Aromatherapy...

Lemon, Juniper, and Lavender all help with fat reduction... works very well massaged onto the areas where we have cellulite.

Also, Juniper and Geranium scents are diuretics, as are fennel, grapefruit, and cypress. Any citrussy scent will help lower your appetite in general.

It also says drinking lots of water and a glass of fennel tea every day will help detox the body and flush out all the junk.

Adding Epsom salts, sea salt, or seaweed extracts to the bath can also eliminate toxins, and this should be done twice a week.

Thyme, Rosemary, Basil and Patchouli are excellent creams to rub onto cellulite areas to help break down the cellulite and stimulate our circulation as well as remove toxins.

Tea tree and eucalyptus help enhance our immune system while we're detoxing as well as all the scents listed above.

All of the books say to take a nice brisk walk (even for 10 minutes) right before a good bath in the evenings using any of these oils to clean your system out.

Okay, back to my search *smile*

» Willow4 - Thanks!

Darlene,
Thanks so much for those tips! I love aromatherapy and really should incorporate into my daily life more often. I have bought several candles to help with this. I am going to try several of the things you mentioned. The grapefruit juice sounds wonderful and I had no idea of the benefits. I knew this was the right place to ask for advice. You have no idea of how much I appreciate this!!!! Thanks again! I will keep checking back for the hypnosis link. I could use this for sure.

I have already tried the idea of thinking of something awful when I wanted something sweet and it worked. I will be working on the water consumption too. smile

» mastiffs2005 - Weight Loss Script - Finally!

Thanks for being so patient with me, y'all! I've finally got the script typed in, and if you need any help with it, just give me a yell.

Weight Loss Hypnosis Script

Have fun... you won't believe how effortless weight loss is with hypnosis! And be sure when you're taping it to add it to your own likes/dislikes... for example... I use "you will desire to take a short walk each day..." ... You can change this to any type of exercise that you have time to try or are able to do. Make the script fit you.

HUGS,
Darlene

» mastiffs2005 - Weight Loss Sites...

Hi everyone, Saha posted this great weight loss information on Share-a-Site, and I wanted to make sure all of you who are interested in weight loss could find it here, too... yes, worth repeating *smile*

***

Hi All, www.dietwatch.com, is a great site for dieting or changing your diet. It calculates your statistics to give you a realistic weight goal, or you can punch in your own goal. There is a calender diary where you can log your food for the day and it will tell you not only how many calories, but also the daily percentage of calcium, iron, vitamin c, protein, carbs and fat you have had for the day. I find it very valuable because it also calculates my daily percentage of cholesterol(I have such a hard time spelling that word!!). You can also log your daily exercise, and weight and it will create graphs for you. Did I mention that it comes with an extensive data base of foods so you don't even have to look anything up! It takes a little searching at first but seems to remember the basic foods you originally punch in and they become easier to find. I went into the chat room and found the people to be very supportive.

www.cyberdiet.com will calculate what your dietary needs are and give them to you in percentages which you can take back to www.dietwatch.com to have a better idea of what your nutritional goals
should be. Cyberdiet also has an excellent and detailed questionaire to calculate your risk factors for disease. I am using both these sites to handle my high cholesterol along with some exercise.

Have a great day!
Marianne

» Willow4 - Thanks again!

I greatly appreciate all the help that is being provided here! This is really tough for me considering I have four kids who don't understand the word "diet" and a husband who thinks he needs a 6 course meal every night. The tip about imagining something really bad is working great! My son just had his 9th B-day and I made a low fat cake but I only ate one piece after I thought of the burnt hot chocolate from last year. UGGG it was so bad!!! The cake lost ALL appeal after that thought. Thanks again.

I started almost a week ago. I was late getting started. But I lost 2 lbs this week. Friday I am going to get some of the herbals you suggested.

» mastiffs2005 - Wow, Cheryl!

Congratulations! That's a good, healthy amount of weight lose. I remember walking around for about 6 months saying "I hate bread." Every time I sat down to eat anywhere, I'd tell myself I hated it. Now, I won't even eat sandwiches except for those occasional lazy days... just can't stand the bread. Then I started on sugar LOL Now, "I hate sugar" is what I'm working on... some days are better than others on that one *grin*

Love & Hugs,
Darlene
