» Labestul - A Point of Order I have just dropped into this topic. I found the introduction to Reiki very interesting. Thank You.The purpose of this message was simply comment on one error that struck me very strongly as I read. I refer to the reference to "Mt. Kuramayama". -- posted by Labestul » mastiffs2005 - Hello Barry! Thanks so much for the correction! It is so easy to make mistakes like this when you don't speak the language... do you speak Japanese? I've been dying to learn. I think it would help in the studying of Japanese healing techniques if I actually spoke Japanese. Dr. Usui spent years, as the article says, learning different languages so that he could learn the healing techniques... and also the philosophy behind them. Besides that it is a beautiful culture, and knowing how to read Japanese would bring me closer to it, I think. Thanks for dropping in! -- posted by mastiffs2005 » bindweed - the power to receive Hello Darlene,I have been avoiding your wonderful forum as I am one of those who fear embracing these powers of the spirit. Or having done so, find others have a great difficulty in dealing with it. "The begger who returned to begging because he did not want the responsibility that his new life had brought him" describes me well. "the healee must have some responsibility in the process. Dr. Usui had taken away that responsibility by "giving away" the healing; therefore, an equal exchange of energy must take place between the healer and the healee, and it is the healee's responsibility to accept the healing energy." I understand that full well, in life there are all too many givers of energies. People who give, give and give; to be whole one must also be strong enough and clear enough about yourself to be be able to take as well. Only in feeling good and worthy (I am worthy of accepting this love, this energy!) can one better give love or help as well! A Leo friend of mine rarely had that problem but even she had her times of self doubt and despair. I am not sure if Reiki is for me, but your article was a strong cup of coffee for me this morning. I am approaching a transitional change in my life -- someone approached me about buying my house. 1.*That it was this specific person was the first coincidence. I have also noticed that those people who might have some of these 'powers', 'gifts' are also people who, if not fine tuned, also self destruct. Guess my passage (interesting mispelling) from this scene (if the person buys it) is to get fine tuned. Last note: the house I bought -- the former owner killed himself (in the barn), and the Feng Shui (for me) is simply awful! So why did I move here! NOTE UNRELATED I hope everyone knows that by subscribing to forums you are informed of new discussions and articles! However, you are not E-mailed of these changes -- you have to click on the What's New icon I have been an editor on this forum for months now and just discovered this function. (A drop down icon informing people of this when subscribing, might help!) -- posted by bindweed » mastiffs2005 - Howdy Herb! *smile* "The begger who returned to begging because he did not want the responsibility that his new life had brought him" describes me well.Herb, you have obviously been through lots of self-examination and know yourself very well, but I think you are fixing to make a big change in your life... you are accepting little by little; but, I do understand the overwhelming responsibility that it can be. I've made Reiki a part of my life, and have had to accept the changes that has made in me. Sometimes we don't want "every" change... just the ones we like... it's like an "energy marriage" of sorts. *smile* People who give, give and give; to be whole one must also be strong enough and clear enough about yourself to be be able to take as well. Only in feeling good and worthy (I am worthy of accepting this love, this energy!) can one better give love or help as well! Yes, you are worthy Herb! We all have moments of self-doubts, just like your Leo friend (I know what you mean about Leos, too... very strong people, even in the hardest of times). I guess the reason I teach so much on self-esteem is because I feel that self-love is really the first step in any of the techniques I talk about. Equal exchanges of energy can become really complicated when the Reiki healer works on themselves, specifically if they aren't able to give themselves something nice, some positive energy, a gift... in return for the healing energy. 5. The next morning I woke up after dreaming myself back to an instant in Boston some thirty years before. It was so detailed and graphic that I woke up exhausted and wheezing for breath -- no matter what I did in that dream I could not edit it for a changed outcome. Usually I can. Herb, this dream really makes my mind go "whew!"... Remember though, that you are a Sagittarius, and we love to move around. Sometimes I think I'll never be in one place for very long, but DO NOT let your friend push you into moving just because he wants your house, and he knows how to push your buttons to get you to move. Only do it if you really, sincerely feel it's right. I have also noticed that those people who might have some of these 'powers', 'gifts' are also people who, if not fine tuned, also self destruct. Yes, my sister-in-law has even mentioned that same thing to me on several occasions, saying "Do you think you're crazy sometimes?..." I'll email you the story of my literal "re-birth" sometime. It's an interesting story of why I KNOW that I'm on my path for a reason, and why I think I'm enough in touch with myself not to self-destruct. I think if someone is on the right path, they'll find themselves and reach this point of "knowing" so that they are safe. You may well be on this same path. Then there are those of us who accept that we're crazy and are just fine with that *wink*! Guess my passage (interesting mispelling) from this scene (if the person buys it) is to get fine tuned. I couldn't agree more! Last note: the house I bought -- the former owner killed himself (in the barn), and the Feng Shui (for me) is simply awful! So why did I move here! Maybe you are meant to help that struggling spirit. I am really putting myself out on a limb by saying this in this forum, but I work with spirits all the time, and I do believe that I was drawn to this house because I needed to be here to do the work. Maybe once you do whatever it is that you need to do there, you'll be ready to go... or stay? But that's just a thought *smile*. And another weird question from me is "Is there a cold spot in your kitchen?" And do you know anything about a "Sally"?? I'm glad to see you back in my little discussion area, Herb! I miss you when you're not here revving up my gray matter... LOL Big Hugs and Have a Great St. Patty's Day! -- posted by mastiffs2005 » bindweed - Sally Darlene Cheek,You wrote: Is there a cold spot in your kitchen?" And do you know anything about a "Sally"?? I believe she stayed behind in my former house. It was full of spirits and I was comfortable with all of them. Fem's they were. One takes company where one can get it! This home in Dungeness also housed a great many Indian and animal spirits -- it was one super powerful place. My friend Bita lives nearby and her home is built on top of middens, as was mine! "Sally and the cold kitchen." My lovely psychic friend Roni, visited my former house, went through the kitchen and into a tiny narrow sunroom. "Herb, this is your nicest room. You do know you have a ghost living here, not to worry she likes you." Yeah I liked her to. Sally may possibly have been her name -- if not something close to it. Herb -- posted by bindweed » mastiffs2005 - Dear Herb.... ROFLMBO....I can see why your ghosts like you! *Smile* Good night, -- posted by mastiffs2005
