» beekay - Very Interesting Matthew,I enjoyed reading this article; I especially made note of the possibility of a toliet....I had learned during the course of an Ancient History class that the island of Crete had "running" toliets......2000 B.C.!!!!! Wow, history sure is like a circle, isn't it? And, the point you made about the (mystery?) transportation of heavy items...makes us wonder if it isn't true what is said about there being nothing new under the sun. I'm a closet archaeologist, and I found your work interesting and well-written as well as informative! :-)I would dearly love to do a "Henge and Cairn Tour" of the British Isles. So far, the only field work I've done is in the Channel Islands, on Jersey. They've got some amazing Neolithic ruins there, including a tomb set at the bottom of a small hill that has a 12th-century chapel at the top of it, and a German bunker dug into the side of it! (Loads of history in the Islands!) I'm really looking forward to more of your articles, and in learning more about my "other home", Scotland! -- posted by scottishgirl » Ravenlea - Excellent Article Hi!Interesting topic. My background is part Scottish (my mother was a Bruce) so it will be interesting to learn a bit more about my ancestry. Thanks for an interesting article.
