Hi Lisa,

What a coincidence! Long was born in Hopkinton, NH. I really had not heard of him, but when you noted that he graduated from Dartmouth, I followed your links and discovered he was born here. Very interesting article!

I'm glad that you enjoyed the article. Stephen Long really was an interseting subject to research. A couple of books you might like to check out if you're interested in reading more about Stephen H. Long are Stephen Harriman Long, by Richard George Wood and Army Exploration in the American West, 1803-1863 by W. H. Goetzmann
