Hi Mary,

This is a very interesting history of Jefferson Davis. To this day there are debates as to whether or not the South had a right to secede from the Union. I think President Lincoln gave a well reasoned argument as to why the Union couldn't be split. Still, it is interesting to wonder what would have happened. Well, I'm getting off the subject because your article has me thinking and wondering! Thank you.

Off topic or not, it is always interesting to think about what the US would be like today if the Confederates states had seceded. I read a fiction title on that very subject and it was unique and intriguing.
