We didn't do much painting with our hands at my school. The teachers preferred brushes. What a shame because paint feels great between your fingers and children learn by touch.

What a nice project for kids to bring attention to Black History Month.

I thought the project reflected the message that we're trying to get across. Sort of like "Hands Around the World." It was a lot of fun making this with the boys. Brandon is at the age where he is asking a lot of questions about slavery and why people would want to own another human being. He also asks about Native and African American culture. He's inquisitive. Actually, I get a lot of ideas for my topics from the boys.

This is a very creative and fun way to honor Black History Month! I agree with you about the paints. I remember finger painting in the lower grades. There is nothing like it!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I made this wreath with the boys and they loved it. They enjoy finger painting and getting their hands in the paint.
