Now that I think about it, a lot of poisonous things--especially certain berries--can be really pretty and some of my favorite foods are so ugly that you'd never guess how great they are. Who'd ever think that something as freaky looking as an artichoke or a pineapple could be so yummy? I do appreciate whoever took the trouble to figure it out!

We are lucky to be able to identify poisonous plants etc, but I would not want to be living in the early days of man, where the only way to know was to eat it and maybe die :-(
