» kcruver - Ewww!

That is truly nasty about the clogged-up Thames! But I think this article is the best combination of education and a good laugh that I've had in a long time. Excellent writing and amazing research--you must really enjoy doing this.

Now I'll have to go read about the outhouse "half-moon"

Anne & Kendahl,
Thanks much for your comments! Yes, my family knows what I write about, but they just roll their eyes. I guess when you write about toilets, you just can't get any respect. I thoroughly enjoy doing these articles, though, and am very happy when others enjoy them as well. Thanks again.

It's 4 minutes away from one o'clock in the morning where I am, but it was worth sitting up to read this! Loved it!

» Lynda04 - fascinating

What a fascinating read that was, I really enjoyed all of it, I have always wondered about some of the more basic aspects of life in the past. In fact I often wonder about "womens hygeine" :-) - perhaps you could enlighten us.
I love your writing.

Many thanks go to the latest message senders, Donna, Jerri and Lynda! I'm glad you enjoyed the article.

Yes, Lynda, I have been thinking of doing articles on the bizarre history of humanity's other living habits, although these are oftentimes hard to find information about. But some of those will definitely be done in the future.
