» AnneWatkins - Ack!

What a horrible fate...to be buried alive. Thanks for this interesting article. But I have a question:

"In small churchyards in England, the practice of digging up old coffins to reuse grave plots produced a startling discovery."

What on earth did they do with the coffins/bodies/skeletons they dug up??

I can't believe how many new things I learned in that short article! It was not only informative, but chills up the spine creepy. I'm really enjoying this topic; I can't wait to see what else you'll come up with.

» jerrib - I'm interested in Anne's question, too.

What an interesting article. Is that where the term "Bells and Whistles" comes from?

In response to message posted by jerrib:

Jerri & Anne,
I'm searching for the answer to your question, but I have not yet found what they did with the skeletons in England. I know there is a museum in Mexico or somewhere in South America where people are buried for a certain period of time and then exumed and placed elsewhere. If I remember correctly, there is a museum there as well. For some reason, I'm unable to find that either, but I shall keep trying to get my rusty brain cells in gear! Will update later. Thanks for reading the article and commenting!

Hi Sharon,
