deserves some discussion, Sharon. We have depended on animals in the history of time, but now we are not protecting some species that are dying because of our current actions and misuse and abuse of our earth.

Your point is well taken.

Jerri,

Thanks much for visiting! Extinction is bad enough, but what really concerns me is tinkering with DNA. Somebody may create a horrible monster just because they can. And we may end up eating meat that contains human genes. Who knows where that is going?

Thought-provoking article, Sharon. I think animals are highly underestimated and unappreciated. Their lives come from the same source that ours do.

Thanks for the link to my book review.

Are you referring to the human - animal hybrids they are calling chimeras?

There's an interesting article at this link.

Joy,

Yes, I was referring to the chimeras. Thanks much for posting the link to that article. It completely explains the problem.

Now where is the Dr. Evil who is going to run amuck with this ability? There's always someone out there who wants to rule the world. It's mind boggling what these human-animal hybrids might become. At the least, they are creating creatures whose only purpose in life is to suffer incredibly in lab experiments.
