I want to give a warning about frankincense. I got very sick from it, being unable to breathe when a woman who rented our church decided to offer burnt offerings of pure essential oil of frankincense, and I had to practice the organ at the same time, namely Saturday evening.

Any essential oil is awfully concentrated and should last a person for years and years, because you only use it by the drop. The woman was rather ignorant and used the oil straight.

I have since then learned that frankincense is poisonous and should not be used on people without medical supervision. It can cause serious problems, including death.

In Bible times, it was used in open spaces. When you use it in an enclosed place like a church, it lingers and can still cause problems the following day.
