» Barbara Bell - The Oldest Pear Tree in the US Several years ago I worked at the headquarters of the Sylvania Lighting Co., in Danvers, Massachusetts. In the field beyond our parking lot, stood a pear tree enclosed in a fence. I was told it was the oldest pear tree in the United States.It was planted by Governor Endicott from seeds brought from England, in the 1600s.
