» goldilocks - Gone But Not Forgotten

Memorial to hip hop's fallen soldiers: Big Pun, Tupac Shakur, Big L, Notorious B.I.G., Eazy-E, Scott La Rock and more. They may be gone, but never forgotten. This one is for them.

» goldilocks - one of hip hop's greatest big men

Damn! This is the hardest part of being a hip hop webmaster/writer. I never know what to say when one of us gets "called home". Pun wasn't in the game a long time, but he did make a huge impact on: "You Ain't a Killer" will go down as a classic. It was one of the tracks that made the "Soul in the Hole" compilation. His presence will be missed greatly. Let's give it up for one of hip hop's greatest big men, a man who showed us emcees can come in all shapes and sizes. Bye, Pun!

I would like to offer condolences to Christopher Rios' family on behalf of Planet Hip Hop, Hip Hop Suite 101 and The WFTS Network.

PUN WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED FOR

"It ain't where you from, it's where you at!" - You Ain't a Killer

"I'm not a player, I just fuck a lot" - Not a Player

» blackluv - Punisher, still got what ya lookin' for.....

Wow. That's all you can say, really. G, you are correct in what Pun brought to the table. He was nice back on (correct me if I'm wrong) Funkmaster Flex's first album, before his own joint came out. Also, is he not, like, one of (if not the) first Latino hip-hop artists to rock a platinum album?

I heard he has another album that was due to come out this year. I will be all over it like a swap meet jogging suit. I'm sure it will be nothing short of hot.

I hope nobody thinks me foul for saying so, but at least family didn't die a death of violence like some of the other soldiers gold mentioned.
Taking nothing away from his untimely demise, at least it doesn't involve another reason for the anti-rap movement to climb atop it's soapbox and preach for the end of our culture.

A moment of silence for a poet stolen away from us.......

» DJ_Trauma - He's looking at us with his third optical vision......

I'm sorry to hear one of Hip Hop's tightest flows has passed away. Spitting words by the pound, he was. And he was the first latino MC to rock platinum on his own.

-Big Pun, Pun, the name who makes the kids run.
Off the hook

Respect.
