» Renie_Burghardt - Indian Runner Ducks

Hi Laura, I love Indian Runner Ducks. I used to have several black ones with white breasts. They used to remind me of "nuns." Do you use the eggs like chicken eggs?

Interesting article. I enjoyed it. Love the pcitures.

In response to message posted by Renie_Burghardt:
Yes, although duck eggs generally are a little larger than chicken eggs, so in some recipes you might need to adjust for the extra. I especially like duck eggs for breads. They're good scrambled, too, but not as good fried in my opinion. The taste is fine, but they get a bit rubbery.

» wolfsister - Looking into Indian Runners

Hi Laura, I loved your article and the hatchery page. Very helpful. I have recently decided to purchase some indian runner eggs from a small hatchery, called Lavender Farms, and I would just like to know if there us any special information I should be paying attention to about runners. My family has had a few pekins and one or two geese and they tell me that Runners are easier to handle. I'm going to hatch out the eggs on an old incubator and being my first time I want to research abit before didving in. Thanks so much for a place to put my questions and the wonderful sources. ^_^
