» muslimaa - Aid to Lactation

These articles were interesting to read as I just finished doing research on fenugreek myself for this article I wrote about post-partum traditions in Sudan and the Middle East which can read here if you are interested in getting some more fenugreek recipes.

Anyway, the thing which surprised me in your articles is that it was not mentioned that fenugreek is considered an aid to lactation in much of the world, and certainly in the Arabic and African cultures, and post-partum women in these cultures eat or drink it daily while they are breastfeeding, especially in the early stages. When I read the article about fenugreek and breast size, I began to think that this may be true but only for breastfeeding women, if it is indeed correct that fenugreek increases and improves the flow of milk. It seems like a very tricky way to sell a product anyway!!

Am looking forward to reading more!

Kindest Regards,
A. Abdullah, editor of Muslim Women

» cit3 - fenugreek

Thanks for the input. I wanted to try a fenugreek recipe but they were hard to come up with. Yes, I did read that fenugreek was commonly used for lactation and actually I think it probably works fairly well for that even though there is little research on it.
