Get with the Flow: Herbs for Prostate Health: How about prevention?Read the article this discussion is about

» DancingFirefly - How about prevention? An excellent article, thank you.My father-in-law has just finished a course of radiation therapy for prostate cancer. They caught it early, and hopefully got it all. His brother died of it several years ago. So, I've been encouraging my husband (age 34) to take some "prostate health enhancing" tea once or twice a week. The ingredients are green tea, fennel seed, extracts of saw palmetto, pygeum, pumpkin seed, soy, korean (panax) ginseng plus natural raspberry flavor, ginseng root, peppermint, caraway seed, lavendar flowers, and rosemary. Based on my (very rudimentary) herbal studies, I rather thought this blend looked unlikely to hurt at that dosage, and with some potential to help. Any thoughts on whether something like this is worth doing prevention-wise? Is there any reason to think there could be ill effects from taking this approach? -- posted by DancingFirefly
