» Cheragain420 - Mercy Brown I truly believe that it was a form of cancer that hit the Brown family. I also believe that people were cruel to implicate a family member. Back in those times, we did not have the knowledge of modern medicine. Given all of the symptoms that the family encountered, I am lead to believe that it is a form of cancer. It could very well be that Mr. Brown was not infected because cancer is not contagious. Mrs. Brown may have been the gene carrier of the cancer. They all suffered from weakness, deterioration, and what appears to be anemia. All of these things are common in people who have cancer that goes untreated. Think realistically, why were no other cases similar to the Brown's??? Cancer is a genetic disorder that kills. Back in those days, cancer was unheard of. Add it up! -- posted by Cheragain420
