Hey, I stopped using the patch about a month ago, because I heard it causes health care problems. Since then I haven't had my period.....hearing yours and other womens stories I wonder if it's the patch, or if I'm pregnent because my boyfriend and I have had unprotected sex since I got off of the patch.I'm only eighteen and am currently attending college...so I know I could not have a baby right now....if you have any information on my situation please let me know!
Thank you,
Desiree

It might not help you but I actually became pregnant while on the patch. I have also heard that it isnt uncommon for it to happen...Recently I heard from a friend that also uses the patch that it is being taken off the market....So, it IS possible to get pregnant....while wearing it or not!

Wow! I'm going through the same thing right now as well. My period is about 2-3 days late -- Ive done two pregnancy tests that have both shown negative and I dont feel like my period is going to come anytime soon.

Some issues that I had with the patch during my 3 months on it were a) total loss of sexual desire and a total inability to orgasm b) I was extremely overemotional and anxious to the point that I was crying all the time for things that usually wouldnt bother me at all.

If you're researching, after this product experience I wouldnt reccomend this to anyone.

I haven't had a period on my own since last March/April. I was on the patch for about six months and didn't have a period afterwards. I went to the doctor and he told me I have a hormone inbalance. In the past I've had regular periods and plus I've been pregnant twice. I had one baby and aborted the other baby. Even after giving birth to my last baby, I my period became regular. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since last year, but so far we haven't gotten pregnant since then. The doctor did dignosis me with having Polycycstic Ovary Syndrome. So this has a lot of barring with not being able to get pregnant. I do have a eggs, but they aren't dropping. I am currently taking Serophene/Clomid to help with ovulation. This week will be my second cycle using it. Hopefully I will be able to get pregnant this time, so I will not have to take this medication again. Also, I am hoping that everything will work out for everyone.

Hi ms anderson, long time no write! Since I haven't gotten my period by myself also since last March, my doctor tried me on Clomid. I did 3 cycles, and got up to 150mg. It didn't work. I hope it is different for you. I have since been to a specialist where I had a sonohysteogram done, which pinpointed PCOS. I am now getting monitored, and am going to start Bravelle, and Femera injections and an HcG booster to try for IUI in Jan. My RE said the chances are good since I have two children and got pregnant before with no problem. She also said that it is hard to blame any of the problems specifically on the patch, but nothing can be ruled out, and that they discover new things every day. I hope Clomid works for you, and you get pregnant soon. I am sorry so many of you are having problems. I wish you all luck, and stay away from the patch!

Hi Kris333, I have happy to hear from you. I know it's been a while since we've talked. When you took your last cycle of Clomid, did you take all three pills at once or three times a day? Yesterday, I took my pills last night after dinner. It's easier for to take them all at once, because I don't eat breakfast in the mornings. Plus I may get busy at work and forget to take the medicine. Since the specialist is choosing to put you on injections soon, you may have a multiple birth. (More than twins) That's what this one specialist told me. I am kind of afraid to get injections, but I will if I have to. I am afraid to have a multiple birt. (Such as triplets or more) I don't really have a problem with having twins, but no more than that. I personally think the patch has a lot to do with people like you and I having hormone problems. Especially for the ones who had children and regular periods in the past. My doctor wants my husband to do a semen analysis. He isn't too fond of doing this, but he will since we are trying to get pregnant. If you like, I can give you my email address so we can keep in touch more often about this. My email address is msanderson_04@yahoo.com.

» Stacey1978 - Wow I'm so happy I'm not alone!

I am so glad I found this place. I thought I was the only one having problems after getting off this crap.

After a break in regular birth control pills from August 2003 to August 2004, I decided to try the patch. Before I took the patch I had normal periods every 27-31 days.

I started the patch in August of 2004, and I took the patch until July 05. I got a breakthrough bleed on July 20, 2005 and didn't see a period until September 25, 2005. I got my next period October 20, 2005 and I am still waiting for it.

So basically because of this patch I am now starting to show one of the symptoms of PCOS less the 8 mentstrual periods in a year. It's been almost 7 months and I've only had 3 cycles. I am really depressed about it because I was always regular when I stopped taking birth control pills. This patch has messed up my body and I feel so bad because I wanted to use it. I even reccommended it to people. I am SO pissed right now!

» Catherine070 - Ortho Evra withdrawal symptoms

How old are the people having problems with fertility?
(ie: could it be early menopause??)

I am 28, and had headaches and all the symptoms of pregnancy (but tests say no) My period is a week late.

The first week I was off, I swore I was in menopause. Hot flashes, moodiness, etc.

After hearing about Ortho-McNeil posting of the problem of absorbing so much more Estrogen than anticipated, I went off Evra. My blood pressure had rocketed to 140/90 compared to the pre-Evra BP of 110/70.

I am quite shocked that this delivery method was so poorly researched before it came to market. This is a bloody obvious thing to study... how much drug is delivered through the patch??? If something this simple hadn't been thought through, how reliable is the other research that has been done on this drug?
