Thank you. I was so happy to see my cycle, inspight of the cramps I was having. Right now I am taking Serophene (a fertility drug) and my last dosage will be tomorrow. So we shall see what happens after that. I go to see my doctor on Monday to get a sonogram to see if I ovulated or not. Hopefully I did and that I may be pregnant during that time. Keeping track of your days and remembering to take your pills everyday isn't an easy task. Like Kris333had mentioned, I used to be very fertile when I was younger. I was fifteen when I got pregnant for the first time and I was eighteen when I got pregnant the second time. I only had one baby though and that was with the second pregnancy. My daughter is six now and I am also married now, so having another child is the only thing that's missing from our family now. Good luck to everyone else whose trying to get pregnantsmile

Good luck finding a fertility specialist. In my experience, doctors know different ways to code so that insurance will pay. I will keep both of you in my prayers too! I am going to try some ovulation predictor kits this cycle so that I know if I am ovulating. Has anyone used these?

I was interested in using the ovulation kits also, let us know how that goes. I have read that you need to be careful with them as they are not absolutley correct. I have my doctors appointment today with a nurse midwife so I'm hoping she really addresses the issue. I will let everyone know what she says. My friend went to her for fertility problems after taking depo and she put her on a couple of hormones, I'm not sure which ones but she got pregnant 6 months later. I also remember her telling me that the patch and the ring are the lowest and safest doses of birth control. They should really re-evaluate saying that.

HiI'm new at this so bear with me ummm I'm 25 and was on the patch since the end of 02 up until august of 05, and i recently had to get a cat scan and some abnormalities showed up so my doc ordered a mri for a better look, the abnormality that showed up on the cat scan ended up being a blood clot on the back right side of my brain, i don't smoke, i don't drink and i don't do drugs but i did use the patch. after finding this my doc ordered mrv which is a detailed scan of the veins in the brain and that showed 2 more of the clots. the only thing my doc can relate this to is the patch. i did some research on the Internet and found a wonderful lawfirm in Austin. they have several clients with similar ortho evra patch horror stories, they have been really great they keep me up to date on everything that is going on with the case and upon accepting my case all my legal fees are fronted and i only have to pay if (when) we win. the lady that is in charge of the case is named Amy Clark-Meachum, she is with McGinnis Lochridgeg Kilgorer, L.L.P. their web site is http://www.mcginnislaw.com/ and here is another link you might find informing http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity...
hope this helps.

I've been trying to get info on trying to conceive after going off the patch as well as irregularity after, and this is the first place I've found anything. A little disturbing, I'm hearing from most of you the same issues I'm having. I went off the patch in June and didn't have a period for over 2 months, then I had one, two weeks later another one but it was light, and then a few weeks later mostly spotted, had some light flow for 52 days. I'm 39 and have never had a baby...my husband and I became pregnant 5 years ago but I lost it and went on birth control soon after because we hit some hard times. Was on the patch over 3 years. Of course now that I'm approaching 40, we are ready. I have another appt with my gyno who's been assuring me it should be no problem getting pregnant but reading all of these posts...I'm not so sure. Has anyone out there formerly on the patch become pregnant yet? thanks...

I AM 32 YEARS OLD AND HAD TWO PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF THE PATCH.I WAS ON IT FOR TWO YEARS. I HAVE DEVELOPED ISHEMIC COLITIS WHICH IS FOUND IN ELDERLY PEOPLE. YOUR COLON ACTUALLY ROTS AWAY DO TO LACK OF BLOOD FLOW TO THE AREA. I HAVE SEVERE ULCERS ON MY COLON THAT MAY NEVER GO AWAY AND MIGHT HAVE TO BE REMOVED. THE DOCTOR SAID IT HAPPEN TO ME BECAUSE OF THE PATCH.DO TO THE OVERWELMING AMOUNTS OF HORMONES IT ACTUALLY CAN STOP THE FLOW OF BLOOD TO PARTS OF THE BODY AND IT HAPPENED TO BE MY COLON. I ALSO HAD A BOUT OF DEPRESSION I WAS ON AN ANITDEPRESSEANT NOT THINK IT WAS FROM THE BIRTH CONTROL PATCH. WHEN THEY FOUND OUT ABOUT MY COLON. THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY HAD ME STOP THE PATCH. AFTER THAT I WAS ABLE TO COME OFF THE ANTI DEPRESSANT. BUT I HAVE THE ISHEMIC COLITIS. THE DOCTOR SAID THAT IF MIGHT REJUVANATE BECAUSE OF MY AGE BUT ONLY TIME WILL TELL. IF IT DOESNT HAPPEN I CAN LOOSE MY COLON AND I AM TOO YOUNG FOR A COLOSTOMY BAG. THIS IS ALL FROM THE PATCH. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY PERSON THAT THIS HAPPENED TO B/C OFTHE PATCH BUT WHEN I READ ABOUT WHAT THE FDA WAS DOING I KNEW I WAS NOT ALONE. I AM TRYING TO CONTACT YOUR ATTORNEY THAT HAS YOUR CASE AND THE OTHER WOMEN. I WANT THESE COMPANIES TO KNOW THE DAMAGE THEY CAUSE PEOPLE FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. DO YOU HAVE ANY CONTACT NUMBERS FOR THE ATTORNEY. /1140132">Re: Re: Comforting posted by ShannonArmstrong:

I'm sorry to hear about your problems from using the patch. The only problem I've had is not being able to get pregnant. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now. I was on the patch for about six months and then decided to get pregnant. I have been diagnosed with having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, so my doctor thinks that is what's causing me not to have a cycle anymore and plus not being able to get pregnant. He hasn't said my problem is coming from being on the patch, but he hasn't rule it out. They honest need to take the patch off the market, because it is causing a lot of conflict to many women's reproductive areas. I honestly regret ever being on the patch. If I were had to do it all over again, I would have just taken my chances as far as pregnancy goes with my husband. I have taken one dosage of a fertility medication called Serophene and that didn't work for me that time. I go back to the doctor on next Wednesday. I think he is going to either prescribe a double dosage or prescribe fertility injection medications for me. Good luck to you and everyone else who's trying to get pregnant. Don't ever give upsmile

I just found this website tonight after looking for people who are having the same problems as me. I got off the patch in June 2005 after being on it since January 2004. I had my son in Nov of 2003 and we had no problem getting pregnant after being on the pill. Actually, we got pregnant twice but miscarried the first pregnancy. After getting off the patch I had a period immediately. The next month it was a week late (same for Aug and Sept). In November I thought I was pregnant b/c my period was not coming. I took test after test and even went to the doctor to confirm. Not pregnant. (We are trying, by the way). It finally came on day 39 and lasted for 2 weeks. It then came back a week later and lasted for another week. I am now on hormones to regulate the bleeding but not on any fertility drugs yet. That's the next step if we're not pregnant by Jan. I've been using the ovulation tests for a few months and although I see an LH surge I'm still not getting pregnant. I too would like to know if anyone out there has gotten pregnant after using the patch. I'm so irate and upset. Thanks

» Megan198 - Shocked.

I actually stopped using the patch on accident. I forgot to go get my prescription for long enough that I couldn't just start using it right away. So I was waiting for my period to start so I could start using the patch again, but it hasn't started yet. Its only a week late right now but I started looking around. I found this site and I am shocked to say the least. I don't want kids right now, I'm still young, but I want to have kids some day. I'm going to go see my doctor as soon as possible.

There is now litigation support information available related to these strokes. As you may know, the FDA has stepped in and required that Ortho Evra now include a warning about the stroke and heart attack risk. The risk is even greater for women who smoke.

The litigation support postings are stored on Google at: Ortho Evra Support.

Stroke Center information, broken down state by state, is being provided at: Ortho Evra Stroke Center List.

We are also providing detailed Ortho Evra lawyer information as well. These pages outline the disease as well as lawsuit actions being taken by people who suffered a stroke or heart attack from Ortho Evra. Ortho Evra has been linked with strokes, heart attacks, blood clots, and deaths. One of the side effects is DVT, deep vein thrombosis, and another dangerous side effect of Ortho Evra is pulmonary embolism, also referred to as PE. Use of Ortho Evra has been shown to lead to strokes, heart attacks, hemorrhage, and death. Ortho Evra blood clots usually start in the legs and then become extremely dangerous when they move to the lungs (causing PE) heart (causing a heart attack) or brain (causing a stroke).
