At that time I just figured, like you, that I would wait and try to get myself regulated. I finally called the doctor and got an appt. for 3/18/05. It was at this time that we aggressively started the infertility process. Provera, then clomid, and repeat. I just finished my last dose of 150 mg. clomid last week, and am going next week to check my levels. If they are not where they should be, my doctor wants me to start going to an infertility specialist. I fear the same thing as you. I have two girls, was one of five myself, and have always wanted alot of kids. That is what scares me the most, is that I have already had two healthy children with no problems, and now, after the patch, I am having all of these problems. I definitely would call the doctor, especially if you are trying to have children. Good Luck!-- posted by kris333 » mandipandi - Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: getting pregnant after use I made an appointment for 10/27. I'm kinda nervous about what she will say, I just hope she doesn't dismiss the fact that I know something is wrong with my body. I will post what happens!

Even though the previous doctor has prescribed me a medication called Metformin. Most patients who have been diagnosed with having PCOS usually take Metformin and so does patients who have diabetes. I don't have diabetes, but the doctors have found recently that Metformin have been known to have women ovulate again. So far it really hasn't helped me. So he would like for me continue to take Metformin along with taking Provera and then start taking Clomid. Now, I took my last dosage of Provera on Thursday, but my cycle hasn't came yet. Is this normal or should I give my doctor a call?

If this is your first time taking it, don't be surprised if your period is heavier than normal. At first it was so heavy I thought something was wrong, but the doctor told me this was completely normal. I wish you both luck. I go back for a progesterone level check on Wed. I will keep you posted.-- posted by kris333 » msanderson_04 - Re: It will come This isn't my first taking Provera, but it has been a long time since I've taken it. My stomach has been cramping this morning, so I am guessing this could be a good sign letting me know that it is on its way. I can't wait until it comes, so I can start taking clomid. I am really trying not to be anxious, but it's very hard not to be. I am trying to get pregnant in Novemember so I can have the baby either on my husband's birthday or my daughter's birthday. August 9th or 12th) We will see what happens....... I will keep you guys posted. In response to It will come posted by kris333: -- posted by msanderson_04 » bridget036 - Re: Re: It will come I just finished my Provera on Saturday and started spotting today, so I'm hoping that it means my period is on its way. I am disappointed to learn from Kris333 that Provera isn't the cure-all that my nurse practioner made it out to be. The nurse practitioner's advice was that it should take one cycle of Provera and then my body regulate itself. Did your doctor give you any idea why Ortho Evra affects some people this way? Is it length of use?-- posted by bridget036 » kris333 - Re: Re: Re: It will come He didn't say anything about why this is happening. When I did mention it to him, he said any form of birth control poses a risk to your body. I will find out today if my progesterone levels back to normal. This is now after my 3rd time on Provera then Clomid. I hope that your body does regulate itself, I will keep my fingers crossed. Maybe your nurse practitioner has had better luck then I am having with Provera? Keep us posted, and I will do the same!-- posted by kris333 » msanderson_04 - Re: Re: Re: Re: It will come Well, I have good news and that is my period came. Today is day three for me. I have two more days until I start taking clomid. The medication my doctor prescribed isn't really called clomid, it's called Serophene. The generic name is clomiphene. My doctor told me that it is the same as clomid, but made by a different company. I have to take two tablets starting on day five of my cycle for five days. We will see how this goes. I am praying that it will work for me during the first cycle. For some reason people who have been on the patch for a while, need to be on provera for a while until the cycle becomes regular again. Your doctor is right Kris333 about taking a chance when usually any type of birth control. The patch seems to be the only one who has thrown my body for a loop. My husband is in the U.S. Air Force, and we are being transferred to Hawaii next April. I am really trying to get pregnant before we move there.

I hope you are able to get pregnant before you leave for Hawaii - how exciting!Kris333, did you get your progesterone levels checked today? The Provera did induce my period but I guess I'll just have to wait and see what next month brings. If I don't start on my own, I'll call my doctor back. It took me 2 years to get pregnant the first time and I ended up having a miscarriage due to a progesterone deficiency. So during my second pregnancy, I had to take progesterone for the first trimester. Since I already had this problem, I wonder if the patch made it worse. I'm 36 and I don't want to be much older before I get pregnant again, so I hope I will ovulate this month! Good luck to all of you trying for a baby - I know first hand how hard it can be to wait! -- posted by bridget036 » kris333 - Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: It will come Hi everyone! Well my levels are low again, so it's off to the specialist I go! I am so upset. I really thought that the high dose of Clomid would do it. My first two children were born when I wasn't married, I was young, and I walked around pregnant and upset all the time because I always had to watch what people say, and what I did. I am so excited to actually enjoy a pregnancy. I am married, my husband and I have a great life now. Sorry to babble! Anyway, my insurance is really restricted on infertility specialists, so I have to find one and make an appointment. I am not sure of the next steps I take at the specialist, but I will keep my hopes up. I hope you do get your period again bridget036, by yourself. Me and my girls say prayers for all of you.
